Time and place. Nothing wrong with the breastfeeding at all. Call me crazy but 9pm on a Wednesday night in a tap room in Brooklyn is probably not the time or place. To be honest I thought more people would cry about the dog comment.

Who's driving the kids home when the parents take them out drinking? I don't go to breweries or bars so I don't care what goes on inside. But someone has to bring them home.

The breweries have cultivated the scene of bringing your kids along to play while mom and dad drink. Many of them have nice outdoor areas with jungle gyms or other games for the kids. It’s become an alternative place for adults to hang with kids in tow, because drinking in playgrounds is frowned upon.

Applebees isn’t a brewery though. It’s a family restaurant.

The last time I was in an Applebees (over 25 years ago) I ordered Buffalo wings. I asked the waiter for some hot sauce. I was told they don't have any because it's "a family restaurant." So, I guess you are correct.

That’s a license issue. Full service restaurants pay a much steeper premium for that liquor license vs. a brewery license.

The kids thing is weird. I don’t have kids but have been to breweries with plenty of people who do have kids.

I get mom and dad time - but when mom and dad are hammered riding their e-bike to the brewery with a baby trailer and the kids are all over the place it is irritating and definitely a liability issue.

Then again - it makes for fantastic people watching. Best thing to do is make any child interaction in the brewery as awkward as possible

Also equally irritating - it is frowned upon drinking in child areas such as parks or the McDonald’s play place. I can’t believe they made me put my cigarette out when I was on the slide the other day.

If someone tells me I can have my nephew at the craps table at Ballys I am going to lose it.

The breweries are specifically catering to the parents of young kids crowd. It’s prolific because there is a market for it.
