Camp Cromwell property

I was out there this morning and can attest to the dusty conditions. That new section of Cromwell trail is LOOSE right now but looks like it’s going to be lots of fun when the conditions improve. Kudos, guys.
Also, not sure if it’s me or Stop Sign got more flowy but I was linking nearly all the hits on my second time here. I can’t wait to go back.

Looking for tamping volunteers after the rain .. It has to rain someday!!!

@jdog and I were out there again this morning, super last minute. We continued the work to make the climbing trail more appealing (ie: smoother and less pitchy) so mtn bikers will stay off the gravel road. Super pleased with the results and hoping it rides well when burned in a bit. We just need to some minor finishing work next session and then we will move up to the last small connector re-route. Moving forward.

Also just a quick thanks for all the time you’re putting in J.

Awesome, and thank you all for the work you’ve put in!

Is that climbing trail going to be a one-way up? Now it’s an amazing downhill, probably my favorite of the 3 there.. 2 way traffic there will be interesting.

Please DO NOT smooth too much! it's a really good ride as is.

Don’t worry, the rocks always grow back.

Our goal is to make the climb feel easy enough that the gravel path isn’t used by mtn bikers.

This place will likely be very busy when the gates open to the public at large and we need to work to keep bikes on the singletrack.

Here is @Kirt moving 1000 lbs of dust.

Huge thanks to you guys for the countless hours you've been putting in here!
It’s funny because @Norm or @Kirt asked me to come out for one or two days. Think that was like 30 days ago.

I’m glad to be a part of this project. 6mr is a mess these days and I’m happy to be working with some elevation changes and some 🪨 rocks.

Hopefully some new faces will emerge n the shop once they see that the people from Halters are making a dent here. That is by no means why I do it, but it would be nice.

Yeah thanks to jdog kirt norm for all the work, unreal how much it gets better and better

Rode there for the first time in a month recently and that climbing trail links up real nice, plus that connector between shed and stop is also a nice add

Nope, it will remain a 2 way trail. The only planned 1 ways are the 2 current ones. This is only due to speed (or the speed after some rain) and a few features on those 2. Would really be hard to stop when flying down. I always prefer 2 way trails but the decision to do it for the middle 2 was out of an abundance of caution.

Too late. This is only being done up too the newish connector to the Shed Trail, nothing past that on the outside loop. A fair amount of it was already done. As Jason has stated (and I numerous times) we need to encourage mountain bikers to use the trails and not the gravel. Those gates will open at some point and there will be many other trail users. I've spend a ton of time there and the vast majority of bikers use the gravel, even the E-bikers. So we wanted to make this climb as easy as possible so there's no excuse. We need to avoid any conflicts between user groups. And honestly, after riding it today, I'm happy with the results. And will be even better with some rain.

Curious why deterring people from riding a gravel road?
