It's called the 911 to make it easier to remember the number to call when it bursts into flames in the driveway 🤣

Thanks Dave.
Im pretty good at the game, I don't take their bullshit and made up fees as facts its all negotiable. I was only in any showroom because I am test driving things otherwise i do everything over the phone and email and then I just come in and sign paperwork.I dislike the entire car buying experience. I know for a fact I was fleeced buying cars when I was younger and single.
There are so many games and tactics that I’m turned off to the whole thing. Just advertise a price and let me buy it! When I buy a fridge or washer, it’s so easy. I’ve even bought those online. For people like me who honestly suck at negotiating, it means I’ll pay a premium over others with more knowledge and perhaps stomach for the gamesmanship.
I know it’s not something that can be fixed and is tolerated by the car makers since they don’t want to be in the car distribution and servicing side of the transaction. But it still sucks.
Anyway, good for you on walking out. That is the best piece of leverage you have over them.
They aren't. I asked. 2+ year wait at MSRP.
i might actually take you up on that in the next week or so I work in Madison so that works out pretty good on days I go to office.@iman29 inhave a 2023 CX50. You are welcome to a test drive. I’m in Madison. I really like mine. Have 37k on it since new and its been trouble free other than occasional connectivity glitches with CarPlay (strangely only with Google Maps). Can carry a XXL FS bike in the back with seats folded down and with out having to move the drivers seat forward. Surprisingly roomy. And drives like a sporty wagon. No wallowing in the turns. Fun to drive.
My son has a 2021 Mazda3 Turbo Premium Plus that he got CPO 2 years ago with like 6000 miles on it - has 40k nowSounds good. FYI Mine is the Turbo Premium Plus. 256 hp. Plenty of oomph.
Re the CX50: I’m 6’3” and have plenty of headroom even with the moonroof. The screen is touchscreen once you’re in the apps. But i prefer the wheel as it’s right next to my right hand and avoids having to stretch to reach the screen. I bought mine as a dealer demo with 3k miles, CPO and they extended the drivetrain warranty to 7/100. Like you I treat car buying as a blood sport 😁. Unless it’s a high-demand low-supply vehicle buyers have the leverage. My son has a 2021 Mazda3 Turbo Premium Plus that he got CPO 2 years ago with like 6000 miles on it - has 40k now
i am familar with the interior layout which I am not sure I like the whole center knob non touch screen display but I heard they changed that a bit. and i know its apples/oranges between the two cars but any time I have to move his car i am afraid I will get stuck inside because I have to pry myself out - way too small for me at over 6ft tall LOL.
Is this an Apple CarPlay issue or an issue with these cars?
Had a CX-90 rental this week. It exhibited the same annoying issue I had with a Hyundai rental a few months ago. After backing out of a spot the rear view camera will stay on for way too long. If I'm trying to use Waze to navigate that screen might not come bak for a couple of blocks. Is this an Apple CarPlay issue or an issue with these cars? Pretty annoying when you have no idea where you're supposed to be heading. Probably shopping for something new for the wife ASAP so my son can take her BMW.
I use CarPlay all the time and don’t have this problem.
I use it all the time in my Suburban with no issue, so maybe it's just the particular cars I rented. Pressing the center of the knob did nothing and I couldn't be bothered to research beyond that. I just looked at my phone. Is it speed related?.
It is the infotainment system trying to be helpful.
See if a press on a back or ok button will dismiss the camera view.
My car has an X on the screen to return to last view.
I run Waze locally or on carplay
I have a CX50 and have this experience but it typically times out at 10mph or 5 secs whichever come first. You can revert to car play view more quickly if you like by pressing the camera button, it should be lower left in a row of buttons near the left hand AC vent. Pressing that button can also cycle you through over head view, front view, etcI use it all the time in my Suburban with no issue, so maybe it's just the particular cars I rented. How does it drive? Always wanted a Landcruiser but not too sure about the new motor.

I was leaning towards a Macan but I spent so many hours on slippery snow covered roads trying to ski powder this winter it gives me pause. A few too many 4 wheel drifts makes me think a winter Porsche is a stupid idea. Back to something more truckish and hopefully a Cayman down the road.Comfy, roomy, seats are a little soft after an hour, and lack overall support (firm German seats have spoiled me). Very torquey motor. Torquey enough to be fun. Raspy though and the hybrid interacts with the engine pretty poorly. The whole vehicle shakes when the engine kicks on. Not a big deal but not seamless. Averaged 20mpg.
Safety nonsense is a bit intrusive, constantly warning of cross traffic, pedestrians, JFC I'm trying to pull on a six lane divided roadway at 5pm just STFU and let me drive.
Looks great, big enough but not too big to park, got looks from others, Toyota drivers mostly.
I rented because the GF was talking about one when her RDX lease is up. 5 minutes into driving it she said she likes her RDX better. It drives like a body on frame truck does. It's not a sporty crossover, but I knew that. She now does.
I enjoyed it. But I don't think I'd spend 63K on it. I'd go with a Passport Trailsport for 54K before this. Better seats, old school feel, V6. A Passport Trailsport Hybrid is supposed to be coming next year.
Hell my used CPO Macan with 4K miles was 59K with air suspension and premium package.

But, FORD. Though my wife wants to go test drive a Bronco for herself. I don't think she'll make it out of the parking lot before she changes her mind.Maverick Hybrid AWD with AT tires and a Cayman sounds great to me!
