Car-spotting thread

What is everyone using for classic car insurance? I called the company that njm partners with, and if the quoting process was any indication of what it's like dealing with that company, it would be impossible to file a claim.

I looked at all of that too. it was nuts what they wanted.

Hagerty was relatively easy to deal with, and not that expensive.
What you want is coverage when somebody hits you up to your insured value.
nuts part is I think the NJM policy would cover the medical part, cause it covers 'other vehicles'

Been using Hagerty since I turned 25 and could get classic insurance....no complaints....they have yet to ever ask me how many miles are on my car, or what I do with it.

Sounds good, I will give them a call. Put it on NJM for now to get it covered, but that's another $1200 a year.

NJM is partnered with American Modern insurance. During the long quote process they asked me how I would use the car (weekend cruiser) and offered different mileage options, one of which was 6000 a year. So I said 6000 to be conservative. Then they told me that it didn't make sense that I wanted 6000 for a cruiser, and started asking me again how I'm going to use the car in multiple lines of questioning.

After explaining why I told them six, and that I've never gone through this process before, and I'm not really sure what they want to hear, I reiterated I'm just going to be using it as a cruiser. They asked me again how I'm going to use the car. So I just told them I was no longer interested and hung up.

tell them you are getting street rod plates and launching it down rt 22, Milltown Rd to the state police station on-ramp.

doubt you'll put 2000/yr on it if it is an extra car, street meetups, shows, and the occasional nice weather ride.
