Looks like a fun car for sure. But $70k for a car with a 220 mile range? Probably lucky to get 150 out of that. Less than 100 if you're only charging to 80%. My wife also really isn't into the legacy automakers anymore, lol. She doesn't want to use keys or fobs, just a cellphone. And after having the Tesla, she hates having too many buttons. She loved the simplicity of the Tesla. We went to look at a lightning because we can usually get discounts on Fords. She got in, looked around, said, "There's too much going on in here." Didn't even turn the thing on, just got out and told me to look at it.

From what I've read, seems like rivian is pretty quick to put you in a loaner. I really liked the iX, my wife wasn't really into it though, and she's the boss, lol.

oh snap! Still a pretty penny but didn't even know they leased them! awesome and enjoy!
I just came here to report that Mrs and I went to Montreal this weekend in the Model 3. On the way I didn't keep track of charging times etc because we did it over night and slept here and there. Surprised the $25 air bed from ZON for the back seat was actually decent. At one point we both laid down. It was cramped but so tired it didn't matter.
On the way home - a little under 8 hrs with some normal congestion and charging. Left with 45%. Got home with 7%.
Two stops - 20min and 30min
about $90 round trip for supercharging
Rarely road trip but first time seeing Rivians pull up the SC. Didn't know the NACS adapter is built into the SC units. Very interesting watching people fuss with the app and release the adapter and then they are parked on the wrong side of the charger since the Rivian charge port door is on the opposite corner than a Tesla. This will really mess up things at a SC. So please park you rivian at the end on the right ha

I still like the look of the dumpster, uh cybertruck. But the inside of the rivian is just ten times nicer. And I won't have to deal with everyone giving me the finger all the time 🤣. And it really just doesn't live up to what they promised it would be. Gimmick to pry money from the fanbois.
The lease deals were great. They bake in the ev tax credit, and I was able to find an employee to give a friends and family discount of $6k on reddit for any of the 2024 dual motor large battery r1t's that were available in the online shop. I'm basically paying the same price I would be if we leased a model y. And if we buy it out at the end we'll be paying $11k under sticker price all in.
The supercharger network was one of the reasons I was so reluctant to get anything other than a tesla. But now that rivians are allowed to wheeze the juice it made it much easier to make that decision. And there's some rivian adventure network chargers popping up too. I put my cousins address in Vermont in the app and we'd only have to make one stop at rivian charger for the whole 6 hour trip, with some food and shopping options for when charging.

Do you think it’s estimating on low driver data? Once you start driving spiritedly or hwy I think I think it may calculate different.
Early RVN charging reviews were bad. How are they generally now? I’m not trolling just curious haha

It says we'd get there with 71 miles left, which would be fine, they have an RV outlet to charge with when we get there. But you're right, I'd probably make a second stop somewhere. I need frequent kid breaks when driving, lol.
From what I've read, people say the estimates are much more accurate than what Tesla would give, and that seems to be true so far for us.
Haven't charged on any dcfc's yet so I'm not sure how well it'll charge.
So do any of these mileage calculations include elevation change? Chris was mentioning his sister's ID4 didn't as she drove to Ashville. Just made it (on fumes.)
OK so that's considerably more expensive than what it would cost me to drive my focus for 840 miles that gets 35 mpg... Would cost $75 at $3.15 a gallon.... Dam, they really fuck you over at the Elon stations

I'd pay the extra $15 to not have to drive a focus for 840 miles 🤣. For real though, there's not many ice cars that'll cost less than supercharger stops. And the fact that 95%+ of the time charging costs significantly less while charging at home, or free at times (work, grocery stores, etc.) it's really not comparable.
