Cars, it's electric! Do Do Do

Hey, what are the tax credits, federal and NJ, in 2025? Not concerned about make/models, just how much and when they expire. Trying to feel out whether to make a move before or after tax day. Which seems every year to impact car sales.

Well trump is anti EV but Elon is in charge, so nothing should expire.

Actually I believe Elon is on board with getting rid of the tax credits as it helps his company by hurting his competitors a lot more than Tesla so I have seen talks that they are also on the chopping block and with current budget cuts looming everything seems to be on the chopping block.

trump may seem like he never has a plan, but the one plan he does have is to make sure the rich get richer.
You people crack me up. Seriously? You bitch and whine like this is a new thing, the system was so fair before Trump and he came in and fucked it all up for us working dopes? Like this hasn't been happening for the last 4yrs, and the 4 before that, and the 4 before that, etc. etc.

Chevrolet was the last name of a Swiss guy....
Stolen by an American under the guise of a partnership.

one of these lines is true. maybe both depending on how you'd like to interpret it.

Used my friend's Rivian to tow two bikes down to Delaware last Saturday. 370 mile round trip. It was a little more annoying than expected but will be smooth sailing next time.

Temps started in the upper 20s, which is not great obviously. The nav in the truck is aware of chargers and will plan your route to include them. It even knew we had a trailer hooked up and estimated its weight. We learned that it is VERY conservative. The initial plan was to charge at 300kw Rivian-branded chargers on the way down but the nav decided we were at risk so it diverted us to a Tesla supercharger at a Wawa 5 miles off 295 where we had to de-couple the trailer.

The next charge was at Newark, DE, at a mall right off 95 and almost perfectly in our path. It was easy to park the truck/trailer. We were in/out in about 25 minutes. The shop was another 60 miles away, so 120mile round trip. We knew we could do it but the nav felt differently. On the way back it tried to send us to every single crappy ChargePoint charger it could find along our route. It didn't give up until we were about a mile from the Rivian chargers!

On the way back, we ate dinner while charging and got way more than we needed. John was going 85mph for the last 20 minutes of the drive.

Any know which used EVs are eligible for the $4k fed rebate? I can only find that it's for 2 year or older vehicles under $25k and is 30% of the price, and maxes out at $4k. So if you get one at $15k, it only $11k after the rebate. Looking at Chevy Bolts.

There is also an income component to the eligibility. There aren't any requirements about origin of components or where it was manufactured in this case, so not as restrictive as new EVs.

Correct, I only worked 3 months last year. So this will be the only time I'll qualify

prices have definitely tumbled but I THINK it's at the bottom

Wish waited like 6 months and bought a Rivian instead of the X. Damn those Rivian prices are holding up.

No stickers. I think it makes the worse. Honestly, the madness that is happening doesn't affect my appreciation for the car. Financially, we shouldn't sell it but YOLO.
