Chimney Rock Conditions

Wasn’t too bad all thing considered.

This was me and eastbloc crossing the stream into white today.

Heading back to the car on Gilbride later. What a day.

But seriously, it’s gotta be pretty crappy considering the recent precipitation. One or two sunny days is not enough to dry it out.

I meet with some of the trails committee a last week to discuss some projects/issues for this year. Paul/High Tech offered a crew/equipment/material to knock some items off the punch list before their season kicks in. We tackled 2 leftover items from Ida. We re-stoned both sides of the Newmans bridge that had washed away. About 18 tons of stone. Thankfully they brought mechanized equipment, otherwise I might have quit. Then we headed over to lower blue to repair the double bridge that was displaced. We moved 1 bridge upstream and cut in new connectors. It should hold up till the next Big storm.
Thank you Paul for the continued, above and beyond, support and Larry B for lending a hand.

That is awesome. Especially the work on blue. I had two OTB incidents last fall thanks to those washed out bridges (and clumsy riding form)!

Thanks @Kirt / Larry / Paul / High Tech! It's been so long since I've ridden Blue... looking forward to checking it out this weekend (if it doesn't rain again...)

Working with a HT crew tomorrow 3/18. Will be out much of the day as I want to take avdantage of the manpower offer. Message me if you want to come out and lend a hand for a bit. The more the merrier or something like that.
