Going Long and Hard.

Figured I’ll commute in with my sketchy death bike and hopefully get another 3 months off 😂

Kidding. But did actually strip it and start replacing stuff. Have a Zipp 404 to replace the broken front wheel. Also already have new bars. Swapped tires because the front one ripped apart. Need new levers and then the balls to swing a leg over it.

Not sure if this is where it all started, but the tube split down the seam. Makes sense with how fast the tire blew off. Also bent the rear dropout I guess when the bike hit the ground?

Return to work was exactly as expected 😂

Got yelled at by 10,000 people that needed their bikes in 30 seconds or less. Had multiple e-bike projects that have been piling up. Racer carnage from the weekend. Thankfully I’m working my same schedule so I’m off Friday/Saturday to work up the motivation to go back on Sunday.

This is one of our race team bikes. He was hit by the kid that crashed in the 2/3 race. Bike was pretty jacked.

Buttoning up the last 2 days of Bike Month. I went into the lead last week, as did our team, so I just want to make sure someone has to work to take it at this point.

This ride is kinda the first time feeling somewhat ok. Nothing hurt and other than being slow AF it felt like a 20-mile day, which is how centuries normally feel for me. Another month and I should be back to 100%.

Planned on taking today off. Went to see Lilo and Stitch at Lunch time. Came home and wasn’t convinced I had the proper lead for Bike Month because everyone is at Unbound. I had to assume someone would post a 200-mile day today so…I did a 50 miler to put in that buffer. The guy in 2nd posted his Unbound ride already and I’m hopefully good.

Obviously way off my normal mileage, but considering I started the 2nd week and couldn’t walk for 2 of the weeks, I’ll take it.

Sketchy death bike is back. Not gonna wait for one of the Summit Swasticars to take me out, I’ll do it myself!!

Also, this guy bought 2 Rockhoppers and threw them in the backseat of his ZL1. Zero fucks given.

I think I’m more freaked out about how close the chin spoiler is to the curb than the bike forks on the trunk. 😱🤦🏻‍♂️

We see this shit all the time. It's actually safer than the common move of stacking 2, new $5000 bikes on a strap-on rack they bought in 1983. Basically no new cars take strap-on racks.

I got some new things for the gym so I don’t have to go through the pain of renewing my PT Script.

The wobble ball thing is gonna kill me. It’s sort of amazing how sketchy I am on it even though I have really good bike balance.

I like the Bosu ball for balance/agility training. and you dont even realize all the other muscles firing to stay balanced. took me a while to get the hang of it but I can stand on it and do half squats and side to side leg drills without falling off. most of the time ;-)

Yeah, I'm working on stepping up onto it and off. I'm at like 60% success rate.

Been sorta under water at work all week. Basically fall asleep as soon as I get home. Pretty sure we’re mostly dug out at this point but it’s still the busiest part of the year so I need to get my stamina for that back up.

Had this ride for the Wookie penciled in for Friday and wasn’t sure if I’d be up to actually do it. Once I got going, and got behind why I was doing it, the miles just ticked over. I stopped every 20ish miles back at the car where I had a cooler and pit stop set up.

I carried a little Wookie for about 60-miles.

Then I set him up in the woods in a spot I think he’d like, so be on the lookout for him. Take him for a ride and leave him somewhere else.

Haven’t been on the Scalpel in a minute and it’s currently the only bike I own with round grips. By the end of this I couldn’t open my hands or put pressure on my palms. I’ve been putting off having entrapment surgery done but I’ve been in so much pain the past few days it might be time to get it taken care of.
