Take all of that shit the is stacked up against the wall and relocate it and the garbage cans too. Or you can just knock it over into the car now. Whatever that crap is, it has no business in a garage.

Hurricane shutters. No where else to keep them, unfortunately, although some people install roll down shutters for all the windows and doors - maybe in the future. They aren't going anywhere - steel cable holds them against the wall.
 
Even the GT Performance Pack cars have 10 quarts.
I wonder if giant oil pans came out when more car-dumb people started leasing to make the oil last longer between changes, or to trick people into buying their car because they only need to change it every 12k.
 
more volume keeps the oil temp low. oil cooled porsche's take a 55 gallon drum of oil I think.

Fixed that for ya. 12 Quarts if I remember right. Makes it easy, you just buy a case.

If it doesn't have an external oil cooler, it's not so much the temperature as much as it's oil starvation on cornering.
 
wow 100lbs of motor oil....on the other hand, water weighs more.....

There are other technologies for that, like dry sump.
Money, complexity and packaging makes it uncommon.

Unless you're Chevy and you need it as a bandaid for a basic design flaw in the oil scavenging of your flagship engine.

Not exactly. Most high performance cars that are designed for high performance driving on a track, etc. where high g-loading is expected have this. Its an option on certain Vettes, standard on the likes of the ZR-1, comes standard on the 911 GT2, Ferrari, other super-cars, etc. Given that even a Vette GS out performs alot of these super-cars, ain't due to a design flaw. Alot of owners opt not to get cars with a dry sump because it makes doing your own oil changes a bit of a bitch.

Not disagreeing. My point was using dry-sump in a lower end application is where it doesn't happen because of money, complexicity & packaging. It's also standard most likely on a lot of higher end cars to get the engine lower as the oil pan can be shallower. Not necessary on a mid-range Mustang that will never see a track outside of the 1/4mile track the first month it's purchased.

The design issue with the LSx I was referring to is it has these issues at much lower G-forces than other engine designs. Fine for a truck motor, not fine for a motor that goes in a sports car.

Don't get me wrong, the LSx is a fantastic engine, I just think it's crazy they screwed that up. I can't even remember the specifics and wondering why it was cross-platform and not specific to the Corvette where maybe the pickup & pan design had interferences with chassis components.

The stock GT350 is specifically designed for the track and does very well at it without a dry sump. Tho clearly an advantage as the GT350 based GT4 race cars are built with a dry sump voodoo motor.
 
Another box from Steeda arrived today. Airaid filter and swapped out the ridiculous stock clutch assist spring system (3 parts!) with a single Steeda clutch spring - much better feel
