Well what a NICE day. A change to the usual H2O series we had dust!!!! Race was ran well. Great pint glasses for everyone, free beer and a nice day. What a great way to end a 4th of July weekend. I came in second in cat3 19-29. See everyone next week at my stompin grounds Kittatiny. :popcorn:
 
my first H2h race. rode beginner as well. thought 6 miles was going to be too short. but that place was a little hillier than I remember...6 miles was just fine. 😱 it was a little rockier than I remember as well...just enough that front suspension would've helped. not that I'll ever go that route...just sayin'😀 btw, how does Kittatiny compare to LM...more/less hilly and/or technical?

And me?...1st. place cat3 50+ male 😛 and I did a full on front flip and got some good road rash to sport...😱 ouch!

I went from second to last in Stewart to 7th (out of 20?) here in LM. I still think i could have done better. I have a lot to learn in terms of strategy....

Passing other riders takes so much out of you, but so does starting the race so hot.... I need to find a balance.

And I will never race with out a big ring anymore, I would have been 9th if i didnt shift into high gear in the last stretch...

I'm excited to see Luke's pics.. I am pretty sure he got a couple good ones of me.

Agree. Many of us know the issues they had last year with the race. This year they did a fantastic job. Well done, great race!

I got some fantastic shots today. Last race with my d80, next week i'll have my new toy and can't complain about mechanicals anymore. i'll just screw up not knowing how to use it 😀

Such an awesome day today. 1 year since my first mtn bike race ever. Got 13th in beginner last year. 40+ minutes and used my granny ring for every climb. I was completly stunned at how bad I did and considered never racing again. But I decided to give it another try. 1 year later I managed to win 30-34 sport today. Even sweeter was the fact that my mother came up from florida and was there to cheer me on. Plus I also managed to run down the guy who smoked me at waywayanda and took first there. Never thought I would catch him, or James fox for that matter. Knowing the course as well as I do was definetly helpful.

Great work everyone! Especially Norm! Not only the first guy to pass me, but the only guy on lap two. Everyone else took another lap. Nice work beating leo today Norm, thats worth a medal in itself. Thanks for reminding to not stand and pedal norm, it was actually very helpful. I backed off and took it easy on lap two and had enough in the tank to hold off my buddy from martys on lap 3.

First Team No Tights victory!!!!

Great job out there today everyone! I feel like I had a good race. I lost 5 minutes to an asthma attack and still finished 6th of 8 in Cat 3 19-29. Was really nice with my parents up here to finish the race. It was my mantra the entire rest of the race "finish, finish, finish".

Congrats to everyone that placed today and Marty's did a really great job with the race. Can you believe that a tandem team placed 3rd in the 50+ Cat 3???

hey,luke was it you,.at some jumping section?
if so,you've pick the right spot !!🙂i hope it was you...coz i did pull a stunt there🙂 and will buy it too...
 
Great job out there fellas. Today was fun, fast, and DRY!! I was able to hold off the Bulldog boys today but Seabeast and Patrick were another story. Those guys are FAST!! My only saving grace is that Patrick only races LM and KVSP so he won't factor into the overall. Seabeast on the other hand may have just cemented the top spot, he's riding very well this season!!

Great race as always. Had a huge battle with some other junior for the last half of the race. But he turned out to be a bit faster. I got 3rd place and won Gatorade!! Not as good as winning beer but its still good. 😀
