IGVENTURE

Actually Utah said "what does your son think about you shaving your legs" as he cringed. My reply was "my family has come to expect shit like this from me". I don't shave my legs for any practical reasons...the i do it cause its easier to clean road rash is not me. I am honest enough to say I want to fit in with the roadie culture and I like the way it feels when i touch my legs. It feels like after I shaved my 2day beard growth, smoove and soft. Despite this my skin is still not as smoove as my wife's, so i say this proves that i'm not a girl.

Thoughts on the Day

Woke up for work this morning feeling at peace. The mornings are always my best time, I think clearerer and am more creative. This sense of wellness fades as the day wears on. Where does it go? Do I leave it or does it leave me? I think I leave it, but today I'm gonna hold onto it as long as I can. So far its working. The key is to go slow and take deep breaths. Its easy to feel good working on a golf course on a day like today. The real test will be the 40 mile drive home and then another 20 miles to Morristown to get Jamie to soccer practice. Driving on rt 24 in rush hour and holding onto to wellness is really hard. Its tough to feel good while telling other people to get the fuck out of your way. Mybe I'll have Jamie do the yelling today and I'll just drive. I am going to bring my bike and spin the roads while he's at soccer, so I'll focus on this to keep calm while in the car. Stay tuned for a follow up report tomorrow to see how this turns out.

Stay well

Were you able to stop by cbs Monday and grab any goodies?

I did stop by, it was more like a therepy session for Tom. He had mixed feelings about leaving the shop. In the long run i think the move is best for him. He gave me a 2 for 1 deal on some Dumond, other then that I didn't want to see what else I could weasel.

I think wellness would persist longer if we all napped at lunch time.

Welcome back, well done, and good luck tonight. I think having someone else in the car yell at other drivers would'nt be as refreshing.

I appreciate your honesty with the leg shaving, a lot of these other guys come of with all these dumbs reason for doing it when fitting in is the case 99% if the time.

I like the way it feels when i touch my legs.

Thats the only reason I shave my legs! Shit feels amazing. Lather them bitches up with Cocoa Butter then slip into the sheets. Makes me feel like a super star.
Megan always stealing my razors doe. Dafuq! Shouldn't it be the other way around?

I feel ya. Walking out to the car in the morning is when I have the clearest state of mind. The fog over the canal, the birds, the tree's and shit…It's lovely. But the day goes down hill progressively faster with every asshole I come in contact with. Whether it be electronically or in real life. Work emails, shitty drivers, annoying coworkers…By 11:00 I'm pretty much a grumpy fuck.

Good job on BKill and SSaP and good write up.

Between the two of us, it looks like we won't run out of Dumond any time soon 😎

All for this!

Glad I'm not the only one 😱

It seems a common thread is how crappy transportation is. Maybe if we could get from A to B within a reasonable time it would really make life less stressful. Nothing ruins my day like waiting for a late bus at the Port Authority. Stagnant air, nasty people in a condensed area, no cell service. Its like hanging out in a rest stop bathroom.

I park my car in Newark literally 8.5 crow-miles from where I work. Mass transit takes me an hour most days to go between these points. I could almost run & swim as fast.

Or ride a bike ; )

Glad to see you back writing again... We think alike but you say it better... Thanks... Nice write up on SSAP by the way... Good work.

grab your evo and your razor and come join the evolution

Yesterdays ride to soccer practice was a success. I didn't curse at anyone while driving, we got there on time and I pedalled around the great swamp while J was soccering. The above pic came from somewhere in the swamp.

Why no Waway for you? I was hoping to chase you and kirt.

No wayway. I have to real things in and get ready for my next training bloc.

This involes getting ready for BS50. Next Saturday is the Wildcat 100, at this point I would do way more harm then good in doing big volume rides to prepare. The WC is going to be a training race for me. This past week has been a rest week, next week I'll kick up some intervals and do something in the 2 hr. range maybe a 3hr day Wednesday. I'll be in the saddle for about 9hrs on Saturday. This kinda scares me. I know how to do 3hr. rides/races, riding a bike all day brings some unknowns for me.

The biggest unknown is the food consumption. I have done primarily Gu's for 6+ hrs at Cathederal Pines, not sure is this will cut it for WC. I'll bring some Cliff bars just in case. The other unknown is the pacing. After doing CP's for 3 yrs I know the course and I know where my HR should be. I have no experience with riding a mtb for 9hrs and I don't know the course. This means I am unsure of where my target HR zone is. I am going to play it conservatively, after all its a 100 mile ride. This means I will go slower in the beginning even though I feel great, at mile 70 if I still feel great then I start kicking up the pace. Chances are by mile 70 I won't feel great and will be glad I didn't go apeshit at the start.

Hopefully Kirt and 26er are down with this strategy. Riding with these guys will make the 100miler much more enjoyable. I'm not sure if 26er even has a bike. If he does show up I'll have to keep an eye on that boy, he has a tendency to go apeshit on rides...but then again there is the entertainment aspect of watching your friends blow up on a ride. What ever happens I am really looking forward to this. Me and Kirt are heading up Friday, maybe will do some antiquing, go out for some chinese then hit the sack early before our big race. Hopefully I won't be dragging ass too much by Sunday. I have to be back home and kissing my wifes ass on mothers day.
