James Pearl Thinks Blogging is Dead

Clutch has 11 studio albums, no filler. Really quite remarkable. Okay I don't like the Elephant Riders album much. And that's the only one done by a big record label. They are on their own now. Pretty unique case though as their 11th album is their most popular. I can't think of any bands who gained popularity after recording and touring for 25 years.

Every single Clutch song sounds exactly the same. It's all filler. 😉

This is where it all goes wrong. Someone tweaks you and you feel the need to punch them in the face.

I think your reading into that way way way too much. Was that seriously offensive to anyone? I wasn't tweeked, I laughed, I thought my response was humorous not offensive. Am I really that out of touch?

When it comes to on-line communication, yes.

If you said "You guys don't know what you're missing, Clutch is awesome" that'd be one thing. But instead you said "You guys should stick to the shitty generic pop music you listen to. I'll throw out KPop as a reference point to how bad what your taste of music is"

Streaming is totally shaping not only how we listen but what artists get thrown into the dust bin because they don't want their catalogs available on streaming.
Specifically Garth Brooks - he is a LEGEND, and good luck finding his music these days. I had a hankering for some "Friends in Low Places" a few months back, and actually had to buy a double-CD set, which now lives in our minivan. The upside is that my children now know all the words to that amazing drinking anthem.

i read it as just returning volley.
which resulted in my humorous response.

but i will point out that Luke gets on Rick when he hits one hard into the corner.
(i didn't have a winter olympics metaphor available)

I think using kpop makes it less offensive. If I said something like Evanescence it would be me comparing a band someone here might actually listen to and think I'm judging their taste. Kpop is so hyperbolic that it's obviously a joke.

I guess I'm crazy. But I don't think it was any more offensive that Jeremy's jab at me.
I'm sorry if I offended you Jeremy and Kevin.

I didn't know what you were talking about. I've never heard of kpop. The fact that you you referenced them, well maybe you have some guilty pleasures? 😉

PS sorry if I offended you.

@gtluke - Earlier, I told an entire CX group I’d punch them in the throat as a joke... seeing the reaction to your joke, I can only imagine how close I was from being STB’d for the weekend... I now know I can not make throat punch jokes... just nut punch jokes at Jeremy short-jokes
