JORBA FEST 2009 Countdown

I am working the sign in table early morning. After that I will be setting up the array of Walmart full suspension bikes which HumanVise will fold into heart shaped boomerangs.
After that it's off to set up stage for SLAYER. Way cool that they agreed to play so last minute.

Joe for any other parents out there that might be wondering will the Kid Rides be trailer friendly?

I'll let Ben and Shaggz answer that one, as Team MTBNJ is handling the kids rides this year.

There is one section of trail about 100 feet long that will not be passable by trailer. We reach it at about the 1/2 way point of the ride. One parent showed up with a trailer and just turned around at that point.

A Trail-a-Bike (one of those single-wheeled contraptions that attaches to the seat-post of the adult's bike) would be fine.

On another note I will be out there taking pictures, but not much in the way of video. Any of you that have a helmet cam mind taking some video for me and letting me use it to make an edited highlights reel of the fest? I'm hoping to get some footage from a few of the group rides as well as the fest in general.

P.S. 21 days and counting 😀

I have a helmet cam I can bring.

Joe DiVincenzo, Jr. to attend?

If someone thinks it would be a good idea to invite Joe to a beginner ride, I will pick him up in the morning.

On a serious note, special invitations to the right people may be in order and this may be just the event to show the size of the MTB community in this state.

This is a great idea. If he gets a ton of mail from the mtb community in Essex Cty. it might be the thing that gets his wheels rolling. He has been invited to, and has never attended, any of the regular tm sessions at SoMo since we started many moons ago. It's a shame really because I remember going over basic trail building with him during the IMBA visit there.

So how many kids do you think Frank will throw off the skinnies this year?

Which rides are you planning on taking part of?

 That was just wrong.

I think Joe and Dawn should catch the kids this year. My wife has been practicing her Photoshop skillz.

I want to bring my 6yr old. What is there to do for someone his age?
He only has a small BMX type bike right now. Hoping to get him into the MTB with me next year.

There were tons of kids last year riding in the center of the festival. Jeff Lenowsky is doing two shows, the HUMAN VISE is bending and breaking things and there will be a bouncy house! Yep, there is plenty to do for him.

hoping my ride this year will be better than last years. took a fall sorta early in the advanced intermediate ride and just lost all my energy after that. slippery wet rocks + wet tires = my shoulder STILL gives me issues today. hah.

It's just good to hear you are well enough to attend.
