Lewis Morris race route

Trails were in great shape IMHO, the only mud was at the bridges/stream crossings. Rest of the place was dry and smooth.

I got a measly 5.9 miles in, getting lost halfway through the race course and doubling back as it was already past 8:30pm and getting dark fast. I had two "first timers" with me as well, one of them riding a 40+lb diamondback box-store full suspension bike, so it was slow going.

All in all...can't wait for sunday. Riding in the dry is way more fun that Jungle was in the pouring rain.

hey can someone tell me where the actual start/finish line is? just curious on where to start my watch at. thanks

Start by the pavilion, which is down the paved road from the parking area for the lake. Turn right at pavilion onto fire road....that's the race course ccw.

Finish is also the pavilion.

Start line is in front of the pavilion on the bridge. The finish is behind the pavilion as you come out of the woods. The course will stay left of the pavilion during the race.

Well race #2 that I won't be able to do. Transmission blew up today. Have a great race folks

just got back from riding there this afternoon. first time ever riding it this way. def harder i feel but i think that added to the fun of it. still muddy coming off the last fire road just 2 sections but the rest of the place is good right now. not sure what a good time would be but i did it in 39.41 avg speed 9.8 and distance was 6.46 miles

I guessing top guys might be sub 30mins.

Slightly off topic, but can someone explain to me what the outlaw category is?.

You don't need to pay the extra $5 for a license. You also race against less people. You could see that as a plus or a minus.

One thing to watch out for with that category is that you start out after everyone in CAT 2 starts. That means that if you are in fact an ok racer, you will end having to do a lot of passing and as a result going a fair bit slower than you could otherwise.

It seems like if someone is a cat 2 then they already have a license, I'm not concerned with the series but
I think that the point about starting last is a good one.

As interpreted from the promoters meeting: The outlaw class was created for people who don't want to move up to Cat 1. They can stay in outlaw forever and feel like they rule the world and never have to worry about that additional lap. However, it seems like people think it is something different. Either way, everyone wins in mountain biking right? 🙂
