Sterling Forest Trail Conditions

I could be available after 1pm, I have a brand new chain on the chainsaw waiting for some action. JORBA certified. Never been to Sterling though, how far is this from the parking lot ? You planning to be there?
You have to be trail conference certified to saw in Sterling.

Thanks for the offer Leo - I'll probably be up there at some point.
While i've been known to go in stealth - I don't want to risk it there.
Trail conf people, plus they have a path to become certified - maybe we can go through it this fall/next spring.

@MuniMan & @moose35

Thank you - I have about 100 athletes running through there Saturday Morning.
That is 8 miles in, and they are starting at 8am. fast people will be there sometime after 9, not as fast around 11.
Your call - they all should all be subject to going over if the first one does.
I have 20 doing a second loop - they are crazy, so who knows.

----------------------------------

single track was in good shape -
some of the jeep track was holding water.

I can not recommend following the power line trail.
Even if you'd think it is the most direct way back.......which it isn't.

Funny thing is it’s maybe 7 miles from my house, never rode it or even been there! Also, why not get there from the southern trail head?

Yup - not far from southgate.

It is a fun system - love the rock work. Lots of alternate lines.
Flow then rocks then climb and repeat.

We are planning on getting up there with a saw crew this afternoon or first thing tomorrow morning.

It’s this afternoon.

I drive an hour to get there and it's worth it.
Just do it clockwise. The CC people don't know what they're talking about! :p

Both directions are fantastic. I prefer CC as there are more jibs to play with. CW if I want to absolutely bomb the end section like an enduro course at full speed.

Your map is incorrect. No tree downed tree in the area you circled. Thank you very much for your useless map.
It's close.

West of the powerline. I could get to the jeep trail by bushwhacking

Try my map link in hybrid mode zoom in

Edit. Stupid link was ephemeral. Brb

Many thanks!

I saw one of the crews working on a the new trail - gave them a TY.

i'm still wondering how those rocks get moved ;)
