Tariffs...what to make of them.

You are incorrect - I have written policy for Banks and have to abide by the rule. $10k and under.

John,

You were wrong about the word "majority " v. "plurality." You were wrong about the economic impact of illegal immigrants. You were wrong about the origin of the CTR with respect to Barney Frank. First board on the MAGA chess team is a merit based position. Watch ur back.

CTR is something with which I am familiar from seven years as controller and CFO of Banks and many banking clients. Even though u were wrong, again, and again not willing to admit it, I want to give you partial credit.

When CTR requiring reporting for transactions of >= $10k was implemented in 1972, customers used evasive tactics like three $3k deposits. Regulators then expanded reporting requirements for such patterns.

There's more to the story besides the government's role. Banks made big money originating, servicing and reselling subprime mortgages, which also generally earned higher interest rates. I don't recall banks protesting the govt programs when they were introduced. In fact, some jumped in whole hog to the point of engaging in predatory loan practices. Several hundred small banks went under and blamed it on the subprime crisis, but many were complicit and/or under capitalized.

Also, I see no mention of personal responsibility, either on the part of the banks or the individuals who took out risky loans. Small banks are fading away because changes to the very definition of money. Cash is virtually dead, except among the folks who are criminals or tax dodgers. You can get loans and buy pretty much any financial instrument without leaving the house.
Many good points in this - kudos!

And the SAR reports? The SAR’s are what ends reporting the cash transactions. Didn’t want to loose people in Banking terms.

Since we are playing this - we are noting you have no real facts on your immigration numbers and essentially whatever Trump does you are going to be upset about, even if you agree with it? That’s crazy to me.

Effectively you are voting against policies because you don’t like the person serving it?

Serious question to the trump supporters. How do you feel about how he is violating court orders? Do you believe the checks and balances of the 3 branches of government should be ignored or abolished in favor of only having the executive branch make all decisions?
What court orders, by who? No.
You'd think at some point these people in Congress would be like "why are we even here?". Is it rewarding to have your jobs made redundant by the executive branch? Is this why you ran for office? I suppose as long as the donors keep donating, stock tips keep coming in, and cushy post-Government jobs are still there, there isn't that much motivation to do anything about it.
Congress has been giving away its authority to the executive branch for decades with these agencies. They created this mess. Getting rid of or reining them in limits the executive power. The expected result will be for congress to do its job, more public debate in congress and more transparent knowledge for those who vote these people into office.

In bed right now so not watching the video... Did a quick Google search and read this:

This bothers me so f-ing much. Freedom of religion needs to be protected. People should be able to practice their faith without fear. And there should be a government organization to ensure that. But God needs to otherwise stay out of politics/government. (I actually want to remove the reference from all money, pledge of allegiance, etc.) I don't need or want any politicians citing a religious text when deciding laws. My soul, my healthcare and my general well-being don't need to be saved by some politician's hypocritical religious bullshit.

And we know which faith he (Trump) deems the most important:

Trump said Bondi would also work to "fully prosecute anti-Christian violence and vandalism in our society and to move heaven and earth to defend the rights of Christians and religious believers nationwide."

Because Christians are so unfairly treated and persecuted?!

I detect sarcasm. What would your Faith Officer look/talk like?

She seems to be tied to the Catholic Faith - would you have picked a different religion?

If you are referring to Trump as a shoe and watch salesmen I think you are a bit off base - when it comes to Presidential clothing gimmicks the Hat would be the primary IMHO. If someone has sales figures noting otherwise, by all means post them.

Do you own any Clinton, Obama and/or Biden garb?

On that topic,
I know we experienced it before with the Trump merch and truck flags and such and some hardcore people kept with it through Biden's term, but I think it is time to put the stuff away. I can buy into some of that for the campaign even though no sign, flag or shirt has ever personally be bought or displayed by me or my family. These people really feel the need to fly a trump flag on their house still? Like who cares? He was elected, he doing his thing, maybe get on with your life?

There’s a guy on 31 by me who has a tent (in front of his gun shop) and he is still there every weekend selling his shit. And there’s always people there buying it.

It’s like politics are sports now. You root for your team no matter who is wearing the uniform. Scary times…

Everyone loves executive authority when THEIR guy is in charge.

I'm really curious what happens in 4 years. Trump is playing magic with people's brains in a way that nobody else has.

I don't see another Trump type figure showing up to take his place.

Also planning ahead for defiance of future court orders:

It’s pretty tacky, I agree.

But, I think a lot of people feel passed or overlooked, I credit that for a lot of the reason Trump was elected. Many of the same people felt harassed during the previous administration - with the way the election went it seems their voice was heard and they can safely express themselves.

I am sure the anti-Trumpers will be breaking out more “Hate has no home here” signs shortly.

I wonder how many of the political sign/clothing retailers “lost their shirt” on Biden merch when he pulled from the race. Even the junk that they sold that was anti-Biden. Where does that stuff end up if it does not sell?
