Tariffs...what to make of them.

I also want to put this out here - I grew up in my twenties and thirties on this board. It has been truly unique for me as it was the first communication medium where I could chat online but see the same people in person and continue the conversation.

This board allowed me to meet people from all over the State that are in different stages of life as well as different lifestyles. I have learned so much from all of you and cannot thank you enough!

My discussions on this board have molded my opinions as well as my actions - in my opinion all for the better. This place has made me a better well rounded human being.

No one on this board has ever been violent to myself or any other members in my presence. No one has yelled or caused a scene - everyone has been respectful in person. That is awesome!

You all are the best - all part of what keeps me coming back!

I think the point on the "armored Teslas" isn't so much that Tesla received that contract as a result of the election, which obviously did not happen based on the timing. The point is, if you're going to have someone claim to do an independent audit of government expenditures but that person also has billions of dollars worth of business with the government, it's just hilarious to think that it can be done in any kind of professional/impartial way. Not to mention that there's essentially zero evidence of the "fraud" being claimed.

Edit: I'll go one step farther. Tesla received hundreds of millions of dollars in loans focused on speeding the adoption of EVs and clean energy. This is now the exact type of "woke" government waste that's now on the chopping block by the same guy who benefitted from these programs. It's the absolute height of hypocrisy.

You guys are so critical. Tesla can survive without those government loans and federal rebates on the purchases of their cars.

They'll show you guys how they'll still be profitable without all that and making their profit the good old fashioned way by selling government mandated carbon credits.

Dig a little deeper. The contract was to study ways to counter ASED and LSD efforts by our adversaries.

Agree Tesla can survive without gov. rebates my wife son has a Tesla car and Cyber truck. I really think EV's are the future if there are more charging stations being built. The prices of EV's have come down as more are being built.

I don't think we'll ever not have an EV again. They're just so much nicer to drive. I mean, I'll keep my minivan cause it's paid off, and we'll usually use that for days with more than 4 hours of driving, but when that thing dies? We'll probably just have two electric cars. We've done long road trips with them, it's not nearly as bad as people think, and it should only get easier.

Just wondering, they still require you to sign a nondisclosure contract who you buy a Tesla? My neighbor bought a Y model a couple years ago and he was required to sign so he would not complain on line if the car broke down. I always thought that was very suspicious. Funny how people are all about free speech until that speech is about them or theirs.

Im laughing not that trump lied....just that anyone believes that any politician can really control this stuff.....

That said, tariffs will absolutely cause prices to go up....not sure anyone is disputing that.
