Tariffs...what to make of them.

I was in Home Depot Sunday and picked up a pair of gloves. I do some TM about half the rides and I like the deerskin gloves best for that as well as protection. They used to be $20 BITD, but crept up to $25 a few years ago.

They were $40 Sunday and when I got home I read the label: 'Made in China." I returned them today.

If some Middle East country gave Obama or Biden a free plane , the republicans would loose their shit…. Trump, it’s cool….. every time I think the republicans can not get more corrupt they show me there is always a new low.

Following up on my Chinese windscreen, it was a scam. Last weekend, I got a package delivered with two earplugs (!) and a return address in Jamaica, NY. I later noticed the tracking number was the same as the tracking number for my Amazon order.

Meanwhile, tracking updates continued, all the way to "delivered" a couple days ago. Of course, nothing was delivered. I logged back onto Amazon and finally noticed that I had been refunded 2 weeks ago.

I don't know the point of this scam. To get my contact info? It seems like a lot of work. An actual person had to deliver the 2 earplugs (from GOGO Express, apparently the worst last-mile-delivery business in existence).
 
I mean, at a certain point the people who support him simply say, "Look, I don't care. He's a piece of shit, I get it. But I just don't care."

I cannot see it any other way.

I also understand this thread has become a sort of de facto liberal anti-Trump stomping ground at this point. Whatever. The weather sucks today.

I was thinking about, based on the direction of this tariff thread, starting a new pro trump thread. Just to give equal time on MTBNJ.

Judging by my parents, there's nothing to defend, he's basically perfect and you may as well appoint him dictator. In response to Trump getting the Qatari 747 my parent's were posting misinformation on Facebook about Clinton's 17 million dollar that he got from Saudi Arabia that nobody complain about. No response after pointing out nobody complained because it didn't happen...

And speak for yourself, it's 79 degrees and sunny at my desk.

Well, there were a couple people that tried to not be anti-Trump and they were kind of stomped on. I'm pretty Anti-Trump but yet I get pushback when I point out incorrect criticism of him.
 
My thought is that they must ride the trump bus until it crashes. The choice of not getting on the bus leaves you behind.
I'm talking republican politicians.

When it does crash, everyone jumps off and says they believed, but were deceive.
The trump money for riding and penalty for not are too high.

I'm still looking at what the result will be. Everything seems temporary. Markets can account for that.

Social change is interesting. More divisive now. We can watch the extremists argue online..
