The clothes you wear on a bike...

Where do you buy your cycling clothes?

  • Local Bike Shop

  • Online from a retailer (e.g. Competitive Cyclist)

  • Online direct from brand (e.g. Rapha)

  • I haven't bought new bike clothes in years - my wife buys all my clothes (this is legitimate)

  • I haven't bought new bike clothes in years - brands pay me to wear clothes (I'm a baller)

  • I haven't bought new bike clothes in years - I like the smell of my old clothes

  • I haven't bought new bike clothes in years - I only wear team gear

@Monkey Soup CR tops are the bomb. I have like 5 pairs

I have exactly 1 pair of rapha bib shorts that are always either in wash or on top of the clean pile. I need to grab another 2 and throw away those champion bibs.

Mtb I am wearing golf shorts over them
Road no golf shorts

I cast a 2nd vote for performancebike.com . I have owned many different brands of mountain bike shorts. My favorite is their World Jerseys Outlaw Bullet MTB Shorts.

Word to the wise, never, ever ever wash hose without putting them in a garment bag first because it will come out in a ball of twisted mess. Also never wear off road because the fabric will catch easy. Ultra lightweight for road clothing = delicate AF.

Good to know. I figured off road would be a bad idea, especially in picker-land

I wear an old cotton tee shirt, my "performance gear" gets just as wet and smells awful! ,moisture wicking is a big lie!!
Plus, me in a tight fitting jersey is not a good look, not for me and definitely not for the person looking at me.

I have the O'Neal elements gear. Tough and light weight. When it gets really hot out I'm usually in a pair of Old Navy cargo shorts and an Under Armour loose fit T-shirt... and a pair of Vans, always rocking the Vans My lid is an O'Neal Backflip shocker full face. My grill isn't pretty, but it doesn't need to get any uglier

I always have problems with online clothes. Almost never the right size and I have to send it back. I prefer to buy in person. Except for Fiveten shoes, which are sized consistently and I feel comfortable buying online.

I don't really see one of my categories in the poll. In person at a non-local bike shop (I live in NJ but go to Performance Bike in PA sometimes to buy) and in person at an all purpose sports/outdoor store, like Campmor.

Buying shorts online is tough for me because of the whole fit thing. With jerseys, I get large and 99% of the time they fit. I bought Endura Humvee shorts at the LBS because I could try them first. I just bought a pair of Sombrio Pinners up in VT because I destroyed my Humvees and my bike in a crash. Haven’t tried the Pinners yet, but they fit well in the store and seem durable, yet breathable. As soon as the Physical Therapy guy gives me the green-light I’ll go for a ride (most likely before since I’m the king of bad decisions).

Is this the folks who custom make out the basement in Philly? I had a pair of shorts back in the 90s that were absolutely the best ever, closest I have found today are the rapha.

*edit nevermind looked up and realized it's death Row help. That was not it.

Yeah I was going ot say -- I think you may be thinking of Lone Wolf Cycling, although they weren't around in the 90's. The only other one I know in this area was a real small company in the early 00's called Earth Pilot who made jerseys and some other stuff. My first cycling jersey ever was from them.

Delivered today. When they say flyweight it's no joke!
