Rut Surfing
At this point i am over shaming people that ride in really muddy conditions, but it doesnt mean it isnt annoying to ride frozen ruts. Only had a few spots where it bounced me off my line. While the top was frozen, it was soft and felt like you were riding in the grass the while time.

Office today today, so before the commute I decided this morning to try the Zwift Ramp test its been a while (a year actually) and after a few days off the bike, the timing was right.

Ride #1 - Warm up
00:26

Ride #2 - Zwift Ramp Test (including cool down)
00:28

I don't take this data as the end all be all, but it's good to get an idea where I am at. I had a goal to get to the 300w block of the test, and I made it 30 seconds into the 340w block. And my Zwift FTP shows me to be right around where I thought I would so thats good. The main thing for me is I am down about 6lbs and feeling really good on the bike when I ride outside, even on my last MTB ride a few weeks back I felt great fitness wise.

Tom and were wondering if Nesh would be a mud-fest today... looks like our assumptions have been confirmed... :-(

Zwift at lunch time during SnowWFH day. Jumped on stage 5 of Tour de Zwift and hung out with a 2.5w/k group for a hour while blasting Eminem on Spotify. Legs felt pretty good considering yesterdays ramp test. Rounded up to 25 virtual miles.

Was hoping to get outside tmw but looks like really really windy and the Columbia trail
Is likely covered in ice.

Didn't have any Nojo
I got up yesterday at 4:30 and at my house we didn't get the snow before the ice and it was a decent glaze of ice so I didn't ride. I had hoped that the trails didn't fully thaw and hit nesh this morning. I started the reverse loop as the start of the regular loop is one of the wettest sections. Very quickly I found crap conditions and anything that didn't have a leaf layer was just baby poop. I thought maybe the lower/rockier stuff would be better but nope, so headed out. I just don't have the gene to destroy trails, especially the ones I work on, idk, it just isn't fun to me. Explored around the area and didn't find squat to ride but did find this menacing water tower that the Boro around is proud to say "that thing stores our drinking water".

Wind
Roadie at lunch, I am not going to say I nailed this loop as far as avoiding the wind and then riding it home but I did a pretty good job. Second half was fun.

It's supposed to get down into the 20s tonight. I wonder if it will be cold enough to freeze the mud... I'd like to get out for a ride since I have literally not left my house since Sunday...

Trail Runners
Took care of 5 down trees and then did the loops at WACO this morning. Saw one trail runner 4 times and each time he seemed less pleased. At least we were coming towards each other, which is the less awkward way to pass IMO. Also saw a group of 4 runners that i passed twice. Was quite the busy morn.
