The Not BIYF February Ride Thread

decided to actually ride my MTB today again on some real trails. With local trails all frozen and not wanting to ride the roads solo when it’s cold today a ride at Hartshorne was the best option.

For me this place is challenging enough for a great workout even if I have to walk a few of the climbs and go a little slower. We had a small group I was the caboose all day with a bunch of pros but the group was good to not leave me for dead out there lol.

Maybe you recognize a few faces. 😁

And I'm out... Tom was driving from his g/f's house in Philly, so went to Pennypack instead of Nesh. Clockwise loop from Pine Rd. I lost the front wheel on ice under dirt at the first turn and went down hard on my left shoulder. And after over 40 years of doing stupid stuff on bikes I've finally broken a collarbone. Complete break too. I've been home from the hospital for a few hours and it'll definitely be an interesting month or two since I live alone. I'll find out more after I talk to the orthopedic on Monday...

Bummer, hope recovery is quick!

No pics of the ride because it was too cold, but here’s some homemade pizza dough that did not come out very well.

I did a lot of CR this morning, and it was way more icy than I thought it would. Still totally rideable, but it required some careful attention in a lot of places. Fun either way!

Totally unmotivated to do anything yesterday after the ice/snow removal. Plus I was still pretty sore from Saturday so I just did some
Stretching and indoor Bodyweight workout.

Thought today would be good to get out and ride. it was fine until it was windy and colder than I thought. And I forgot my water bottle for the first time in forever.

Met up with one of the wfh crew just did a flat east loop on the road. A but too much ice and snow on the shoulders of the road it’s always good to get out and not ride the trainer but that was a little nerve wracking for me.

Had a nice bowl of soup when I got back hence the title.
