Been really motivated to climb and not at all motivated to ride on the snow, but I'm back in the game.

Distant Beeping Noises
3 to 4 inches on cold surfaces, but only one to two on pretty much anything else, including the trails. I guess the ground was just a tiny bit warm and there’s some places where the track went down to dirt just mounted a couple places on those laps But mostly stayed on the bike, just slow as expected with this rain tonight. It’s all gonna turn to poo.’

Indoors was the only real option for me today, even with an unplanned WFH day and a light meeting schedule. Any trails within riding distance are snow/iced over and no way I was gonna be out on the roads today all wet and sloppy with narrow shoulders covered in ice and snow.

Decided it was a good day to wrap up my achievement for Tour de Zwift and finish Stage 6. I took a much needed rest day yesterday and felt much better/less sore so I used this session to push myself a bit with a little harder effort and start making use of all the hours of training I did in January.

These events are mass starts with all levels together so once the flyers go off the front its easy to find a "blob" to settle in and do some pacing. I went with a group around 2.5-28 w/kg and made it like some race intervals sliding to the back of the group and then pushing hard to move to the front a few times. I found myself able to keep up but I was definitely putting in some work despite the group draft effect.

Got a PR for my hour of power and increased the infamous FTP a decent amount too. yes its all virtual and I don't take it as 100% factual but felt good to see some gains.

Cold Mist
Finally got my rain bike back i working condition after putting r7000 shifters on it to finally get me off peasant mech disc brakes, just in time for this mornings rain.
Heavy mist at 36 degrees confirms that 30’s and rain is cold.
This poor bike was all cleaned up just to get trashed, such is the life of a rain bike.
