The (unofficial) Tour de Fat

Happy WOW!
managed to shoot home and grab the bikes. Jason's first dirt ride on his new whip. Fun was over when I made that left into parking lot hill. I could see the frustration building. I guess I forget that he still needs time to master the craft. Yet this is the same kid who smokes the shit out of me at the slopes where goes bigger and further. But then he does freeze on some of the older tech runs @mcbp. Gonna spend some time in do overs in the rocks with him. We talked about getting some of his buddies involved on a weekly basis, so we shall see how that pans out. Kept on white for the rest and I felt really good, best yet to date.

I think Jason is wearing the same kit as in that video from 4 yrs ago, he's got the skin suit on.
Props on getting your teenager to ride with you, I can get my kids to go out for burgers but thats about it.

Morning DP with Pedals

Took some morning off to get a rare ride with my lady. It was moist and humid out there. Trails were solid but the trails close in even more when the brush is wet.

Who said SS is slow.
my wife dropped me no less then 6 times this morning. I wish I had the fitness I had just 2 years ago. Why is it so hard to gain and so easy to lose. I need to get my SS back together and start riding it. On that note the seven needs a good dusting and lube so I can start taking advantage of the early sun STB style.

Good to hear the 7 "may" get some lovin. It's a crying shame that thing is dusty
Sadly the "7" still hasn't seen the light of day in '15 🙁 that's sacrilegious.

Talking with @ReggieHammond this evening after he clocked 70 on local roads solo made me realize wtf ! I need to just do time management. Self employment and teens eat a metric S ton life. @Norm as witness by his open book life proves shit can get done by numbers. ADD that I didn't know I carried through my life until my 3D printer put a boy exactly like me. Having children makes you take many good looks at yourself as person.

This was my wisdom revelation tonight, I have been morning person all my life. Since self employed I have been sleeping in by that I mean till 6am to get the kids Off for school. I need to go back to the 4am wake and ride @stb222 style. Which requires early bed time, I welcome this because it's losing couch time.

As I said Burke
2016 I will win come back player of the year award!

How old are your kids, they still need you to make their oatmeal?

Looking forward to you getting in shape so you can join us on group rides.

The unofficial has become Official

I stepped on the weight measuring tool and registered a new high 260.3 🙁

Depression
has set in. Many of the simple things like putting socks on or tying shoes has become a chore. I honestly don't know where I lost my mojo but it's lost indeed.

I desperately need to turn this around before my health starts to fail. I unfortunately already had high blood pressure before when I was fit, I can only imagine where I sit now.

With job changes in the last 2 years it seems instead of getting easier as I get older it has only gotten more stressful. Eating when I can find time to jam food down my face which leads to shity choices. Alcohol has become a habit which is not good for someone with addictive personality. Bicycles have always been my addiction but not so much anymore.

Anyone that knows me knows I will do anything for anyone at the drop of a hat yet I can't seem to do for myself what needs to be done. I know exactly what needs to be done but as in past life change only happens under extreme circumstances.

So as last year I signed up for this fat50 and again I feel it was just a donation like SSaP was. I will make sure to at least show up if to only ride 10 miles of the fifty just to say I rode my bike.

Sorry for a depressing post but it's where I am at right now, and maybe putting this out there in a public forum will generate a positive reply that will hit home.

Thanks for following along

Let's ride fat bikes! I'm off the last two weeks of the year and can ride pretty much anytime that you're free. Also down for late afternoon or weekend rides whenever.

Yo buddy, biggest part is getting it out there. Time to turn the ship around! Going back to what is was years ago maybe tough, why not make some simple goals to start out with?

- Try to ride 30 miles this week and add a few each week going forward.
- Limit beverage consumption to one or two nights a week.
- East out twice a week

Obviously these have to be custom tailored to where you are at.

How about a weekly post to update where you are at?

Matty, it's only a number. Just something to use as a baseline, nothing more.

Matty, we could sugar coat this, but that isn't what you need (you have obviously been sugar coating quite a few things over the last two years 😉). Focusing on +/- a few lbs is "just a number", +80? (i am guessing here) lbs is beyond that. I am not preaching, you know this. The answers are easy and it involves spinning your feet in 14" circles, something you know you love to do. Start small, start big, just start.
