Things that make you frown :(

Haha, I've been wanting to try dilaudid for some time, but no, luckily the pain was tolerable without any meds. I caught it early. Considered not getting it checked and hoping it would go away on its own, but the pain was enough for me to take a trip to urgent care. All they did was tell me to go to the ER. 6 hours later I walked out with some antibiotics. Nothing compared to what you had to deal with!
My father had that and it got bad and infected and burst, he made out OK but had a colostomy bag in the process. Uber gross. Glad you got yours early.

If anyone is interested you can register to be a donor for bone marrow via be the match. It took me under 5 minutes to register I should have my swab kit next week. If anyone is interested in the donation process there are several AMAs on reddit detailing personal experiences as donors and recipients.

Excellent idea.

Thank you everyone. Met before, ridden together, or not, whatever, doesn’t matter. It’s weird how a bunch of strangers online can form a community and friendship. Thank you

Never knew a damn thing about Leukemia. I’ve donated blood a handful of times in my life and now this event has changed how I approach it and other forms of donation.

Just day 1 and pretty normal and a strong boy after his surgery today. They say these young ones are the strongest. So keeping our faith alive and positivity high.

Doc was cool. He didn’t sugar coat anything to us and he reminded us to not forget about the other kid. I’ll be home 50% of the week seeing the other to her normal schedule.

Our boy has been bruising oddly for the past couple of months which one blood work at the pediatrician on Friday turned into receiving a call Saturday morning call to go to the ER to reconfirm lab results. After seeing the 3rd doctor within minutes, they didn’t need to say anything. Admittingly, I was like oh he’s fine they just bruising from being clumsy but I also knew something was very odd. My wife took the initiative to make an appt on her day off. Mother’s intuition. Better safe than sorry. They didn’t waste any time at Robert Wood.

Leukemia in kids is a 0.005% probability. What in the world does it mean when good college friends son also has it and he is finishing his 2nd year of treatment this week! My buddy dropped of so many snacks and some toys today. His son is doing well.

(I’m just ranting now that he’s resting and sort of relieved that we took one big step in the right direction)

I know there’s bigger concerns in life then this but seriously WTF.

These people should not be allowed to own a dog and should be forced to step in it and track it into their own house. 🤬

How do you know it was a dog?
That is actually a good point. Now that I track every single s%%t Bailey L does in the backyard, I occasionally find 'undocumented' turds that are not necessarily left by a dog and most definitely not by a dog being walked by a human.

ok fair point I guess since I automatically translated it to the fact i was walking my dog.

I guess I will know for sure its from a dog if they left it in the middle of the sidewalk already in a poop baggie like on the side of the trails.
