But did make me think that if you're an architect or builder and you put poles in the middle of the garage where doors need to open you should lose your business license.

My father recently had his entire garage re-done with beams across the top to remove the posts preventing him from opening the door of his Sunday driver.

Every house I've owned in NJ with more than one bay has that post design. Currently house is a walk up garage so there's 2 levels above it.
