Things that make you smile :)

Guidry and Randolph.
Got to "meet" Mr. Lightning and was able to get him to sign his book for me too over the summer at Somerset.

I also have a ball signed in the late '70s (I old, but not like Rick or Gock) by two of his WS champion teammates, George Zeber and Bobby Cox, that I was going to have him sign. To me it was a no brainer, but only 1 item per person, and Christine wanted the book signed. oh well....

My Dad had a Medicare supplement policy for prescription drugs, like many. As he gets older, the child becomes the parent, etc. etc. so past year or so I've been taking a greater part in managing his care and expenses. His policy was like $110 a month and paid out like garbage. $15-$50 copays for Rxs, just crap. Last straw came in December with a $40 copay- I asked the pharmacist why so much and he "took off the insurance" and it dropped to $7. WTF?

Shopped around for a new Rx supplement and found one with Aetna for $12/month. Like 10% the cost of the previous policy. Was scary navigating the medicare morass online, but got it done.

First few Rxs of '24 came in nice; copays like $5. Promising....
The two I had filled for him yesterday just were a moonshot. Couldn't believe it, the pharmacy either. 2 quarters and a penny for 2 Rxs. Felt like I needed to buy a Reese's just to make it worth their while....
Hopefully trending in the right direction. As @iman29 would say, turned my frown into a smile!

Check those Medigap supplements if you old- a lot of them are ripoffs!

@w_b wins!

Guidry, Lyle, and Randolph.

I was assigned to Guidry for the evening/ night. He was a good time and told some great stories. The Yogi and Billy Martin ones were my favorite.

I get to hang with Sparky quite a bit. Willie lives locally and doesn't ever want a driver. Boo.

I’m in charge of navigating all this for my MIL.

Same thing when my FIL passed away they were paying ridiculous prices for things and some of her meds for her chronic psoriatic arthritis weren’t even covered so she was skipping doses and dealing with the pain.

Also check for any Patient assistance programs from the manufacturers. I get her Enbrel for 0.00 every year from the non profit foundation They have set up.

Even with previous Medicare coverage (she’s on Medicaid now) the copay was 800 for a 3 months supply. Free is much better.

Man, Willie was my favorite Yankee as a kid.
