What a disappointment that movie was, with the cast and talent like they had, it was pretty weak.
Too realistic and not enough bite for me. Solid 5/10 effort...couple decent jokes.

Mrs. G and I watched it together with a pizza. Her assessment was "Sophmoric," but then again, she didn't like Caddyshack and Animal House. Thought it had some screamingly funny moments, e.g. Jonah Hill climbing out of the rubble late and saying "Mom?" Old white guy friends (SLIK RICK) of mine, who still support the former guy, all disliked the movie, doe.
I'll put my film critic hat on for a sec here. I think the parodies and references are pretty plain to see, which is the issue here. This is a satire with zero subtlety, cleverness, or wit of any type. They tried to cram as much social commentary as they could into this. They must think the audience has zero intelligence or any semblance of an attention span to serve everything up so heavy-handedly. It was so heavy-handed that it was stupid. To compare it to Pulp Fiction is an insult to Tarantino. The amazing dialogue and skill with which he wove the stories together is what made that move. Maybe he could have left a little on the editing floor (he's too in love with every scene he films), but its forgivable. For an A-list cast like this there was zero chemistry, predictable dialogue, with mailed in performances. The only character remotely amusing was the guy that was a combination of Musk/Bezos/Gates.
Edit: Don't Look Up and Matrix Resurrections were both crap December releases.
Made plans back in September to ski Mont Tremblant over the break.. testing is required within 72 hours of arrival at the border which was tricky because of the surge in testing right and the holiday.
We tested Sunday (3hr wait) with a scheduled departure on Tuesday morning.. no results when we hit the road to leave but window was 24/36 to receive so we go as everyone is feeling great etc.
Got to Plattsburgh around 3:00 and stopped for lunch and a game plan change because we hadn't received the results nor had my sister's family. After lunch and mulling around it was about 5:00 my sister got her results then her kids then my wife and I got ours. All negative. My wife leaves with my sister and kids around 7:00 p.m. to get to the mountain. I get a hotel in Plattsburgh with my boys and head to a mart to get snacks. Walking in we get my younger son's results negative, great news ... Too bad we got the hotel I'm thinking. Next test comes in positive for my older son and game over. Spent the night in the hotel "sleeping" with KN95 masks and hit the road at 7:00 this morning. Hes experiencing some symptoms, stuffy nose, dry throat overall aches and pains.
I'll retest tomorrow or Friday
The cherry on the top....
Perhaps actually listen to it. In fact, silly to comment unless you have. Point here is if we stifle all debate, we are not improving society. Open debate is free speech. I posted no conclusions here on purpose, assuming that the first reaction would be from someone who has only heard the media narrative and have not listed to the podcast. I just think all voices should an can be heard, so that folks can make up their own minds. I am not telling anyone what to decide.
Why does YouTube of all places get to decide what speech is allowed and what speech isn't?

exactly, Patrick. Why does YouTube of all places get to decide what speech is allowed and what speech isn't? Are we implying that simply because youtube took it down its all false? Would suggest that even if you are fully on board with the mass media and govt narrative (nothing wrong with that, your choice), that you suffer through this and listen to this. Has anyone listened to it?
Is this political or just numbers? I think the story attached said Covid is the most infectious virus in history, surpassing measles.

I sure hope so!Off by 50% due to woefully inadequate testing capacity. We probably had 1.5 million new cases yesterday. This is the death knell of covid - almost everyone will get omicron and then it will mutate to something even less virulent.
