Verizon Droid

Fiancee and I got 2.1 Friday. Nothing incredible, IMO. The voice input for texting is nice for driving, though it's not as polished as I was hoping it to be.

Pinch zoom in the browser is nice too, but I'd rather not be iphone like 😀

I got the prompt for 2.1 on Friday but I didn't install it since I'm running a custom ROM that already has the 2.1 stuff in it anyway. Going to 2.1 would wipe out root access for me. Yea I'm a geek.

I snagged it Yesterday. I'm really noticing improved battery life, mine used to last 8 hours and be dead, now I'm at 80% battery after 8 hours of use.

Now that its finally official....I can tell you all how sick the incredible is. The touch keyboard is more responsive and keeps up with my lightning fast thumbs. And the camera is a big improvement ( 8mp if anyone cares) . No slide out keyboard so its nice and slim. I'm also a fan of the HTC sense UI....but that's just my preference.

Other than that its the same OS so you all know the rest. Now all you need to do is justify to yourselves why you need to upgrade from your current Droid.

17 month of Droid left for me 😀 its like a brick though....Is the incredible noticeably lighter? I'm glad that there are more high powered phones w/o physical keyboard coming out. I'm def going for that design when its time trade in the Droid.

Droid Incredible

My phone is due for a change and I have been waiting to see how the Incredible looks.

From what I can tell it is lighter and thinner then iPhone (and Moto Droid). I like the tons of memory and the fast processor.

I'm not happy that the $100 discount is a mail in rebate (very cheesy) and even if you do mail it in, you get back a debit card not a check. {I'll get over it but I still think it lacks class}

i'm seriously considering the incredible.. but i really wish it had a physical keyboard... you can't beat that.

If you don't need it the day it come out then order it online and the rebate is instant. You can go to the store and play around w/ it first if you'd like. FWIW I cashed in my rebate card at the bank (PNC) without a problem.

The Motorola Droid has a physical keyboard

The Incedible looks awesome. It's like a bigger version of my Eris😀

But I also have like 16 months to go:cry:

When I first got the Droid, I thought I could not live without a physical keyboard. After a few weeks I found that I almost never use it. The touchscreen keyboard takes a little getting used to but now that's what I go for almost exclusively.

For any verizon android owners who like football....download the new NFL mobile app. It is awesome. Best feature is the ability to watch a live stream of the NFL network. Including games. Sick sick sick. This is going to open the door for all other cable channels to release apps.

BTW....the amount of $ vzw spent to become the official wireless carrier of the NFL.......720 million. Wow. I really hope that pays off.

I agree, I never use the physical keyboard. I also really dig the anticipatory text.

Damn over how long of a period?

That would have been a nice chunk to help along the 4g network development!

The extra charge is for "premium online service" so you can also listen on your computer too. I'm not sure if I want to pay extra yet just on the free trial for now
