i'll second that red dot is completely impassable, whether by bike or horse or foot or atv or whatever. i've never seen any trail that bad, ever... there was one point, maybe an hour in and after i had to actually crawl under a bunch of trees on my stomach, that i for the first time in my life thought about calling the rangers to get rescued as i was 100% done with climbing trees for the day. it's THAT bad. i realized they'd never be able to get to me anyway so i just kept going. what's red dot, like a 15 minute trail? took me 2 hours

i'm going to contact the office on monday as that trail needs to be officially closed. someone is going to get killed trying to hike through there and if they have a medical episode there's zero chance of anyone getting to them.

huge tree on mojo just before the climbing stuff. there could be more but i was done with trees and bailed onto old coal. old timber to south end to pumphouse to aux parking is completely clear shockingly

yeah i get the impression there hasn't been much biking here this season. trails like red dot are actually unrideable, not because of downed trees but because you literally can't see the trail. at all...

tremendous thanks for actually lugging a weed whacker with you!

Thanks to whoever did the nice brush back on Plymouth. Heavy ground cover is making some areas particularly sketchy. Pedal smack at speed on the unseen rock is no bueno. Unfortunately, we will see more spots turning brushy as the canopy continues to die off.

i've been riding there a long time and i've never seen it overgrown like this. there are pockets of areas that get a little bushy towards the end of the season but this year there are huge stretches of trail that you can't see whatsoever. after 3 separate crashes due to the wheel or my cranks hitting *something*, i've pretty much called it a season already and it's not even september yet

all the trees falling have increased the gaps in the canopy...
more sun, more weedy things.

i'd recommend you "adopt a trail" - be the example of what people should do (like Pete)

i do plenty. it's still not enough although i admit i'm never going to be carrying a weedwacker or a chainsaw in there at any point in this lifetime as it's a struggle just to get my own body around those trails

i'll continue to report conditions though as i see them as that's what this thread is for allegedly

I got a big ol D9 dozer that can help out. But now that I think of it, it won’t fit. I throw my machete around in there but unfortunately since I’m in Mahwah now, I visit my mom once a week and don’t always get into Wayway. I do get to see the work @pixychick and Art are working on though when I get over to sterling and ringwood.
