it's on Iron Mt trail and Old Wawayanda road. i'm still trying to figure out what they did with all of that gravel from a few weeks ago at the aux entrance as it certainly didn't make it to the road surface

i'll second that red dot is completely impassable, whether by bike or horse or foot or atv or whatever. i've never seen any trail that bad, ever... there was one point, maybe an hour in and after i had to actually crawl under a bunch of trees on my stomach, that i for the first time in my life thought about calling the rangers to get rescued as i was 100% done with climbing trees for the day. it's THAT bad. i realized they'd never be able to get to me anyway so i just kept going. what's red dot, like a 15 minute trail? took me 2 hoursthat storm did a number on wawayanda....many big trees down on red dot and twin bridges, wouldn't ride them not worth it. sitting bear had one on it that I saw. all fairly big, red dot impassable
me too, started riding double track and roads. shame love riding there. tourne is in great shapei'll second that red dot is completely impassable, whether by bike or horse or foot or atv or whatever. i've never seen any trail that bad, ever... there was one point, maybe an hour in and after i had to actually crawl under a bunch of trees on my stomach, that i for the first time in my life thought about calling the rangers to get rescued as i was 100% done with climbing trees for the day. it's THAT bad. i realized they'd never be able to get to me anyway so i just kept going. what's red dot, like a 15 minute trail? took me 2 hours
i'm going to contact the office on monday as that trail needs to be officially closed. someone is going to get killed trying to hike through there and if they have a medical episode there's zero chance of anyone getting to them.
huge tree on mojo just before the climbing stuff. there could be more but i was done with trees and bailed onto old coal. old timber to south end to pumphouse to aux parking is completely clear shockingly
anyone ride from Cherry Ridge lot? intel on those trails?
sounds like someone came through after me and finished red dot but don't know about banker or Plymouthanyone ride from Cherry Ridge lot? intel on those trails?
PIA 2.5 miles in and the same out 😩yeah i get the impression there hasn't been much biking here this season. trails like red dot are actually unrideable, not because of downed trees but because you literally can't see the trail. at all...
tremendous thanks for actually lugging a weed whacker with you!
Good stuff Pete. I know all too well what a PIA it is to carry power tools into the woods. Thank you for your efforts!Whacking some weeds today, couldn't even see the trail!

i've been riding there a long time and i've never seen it overgrown like this. there are pockets of areas that get a little bushy towards the end of the season but this year there are huge stretches of trail that you can't see whatsoever. after 3 separate crashes due to the wheel or my cranks hitting *something*, i've pretty much called it a season already and it's not even september yet
i do plenty. it's still not enough although i admit i'm never going to be carrying a weedwacker or a chainsaw in there at any point in this lifetime as it's a struggle just to get my own body around those trailsall the trees falling have increased the gaps in the canopy...
more sun, more weedy things.
i'd recommend you "adopt a trail" - be the example of what people should do (like Pete)
call me old fashion...Worx makes a cheap light hedge trimmer. Even I could carry it. The extra rain this year has many trails over grown. I highly recommend getting out there to make your rides better!
