What have you done to your bike today?

When your warranty replacement wheel is fancy enough to come with its own bag.

Back brake was feeling like more of a suggestion....I've been using a SRAM 5.0mm hose since Specialized decided to make the internal guides 5.49mm.

Finally worked the 5.5mm Hayes hose in and it feels wayyyyy snappier. Much more in line with the front. As a nice result of the hose replacement I did half a teardown on the pivots....bearings still good to go.

Just need to pick a tire combo for Little Sugar and we'll be ready to go next month.

The recon I had on the back got friggen chewed up in record time 🤬. Time for something completely different.

Kryptotal Trail Soft F/ Endurance R for the Smuggler. 🤞

.
Was it a 3C version Rekon? Had the same thing happen to me with only 150mi during 5 days of Transylvania Epic stage race. It was brand new, put on before the race. Contacted Maxxis and was told use dual compound on the rear for rocky tech.

Figured that by your post. I've switched to the dual compound Rekon on my trail bike and FS SS. Been good since.
Is it a lot heavier? I do love the Rekon but I’ve had the same experience where they hardly last a dozen rides.

Per the Maxxis website, looks like dual compound is slightly lighter in both 2.4 and 2.6 at 60tpi than the 3C offerings.

Hmm... Just installed a Rekon Race 2.4 120TPI on the rear wheel of the Spot (along with a Forekaster 2.4 3C up front). Not sure what compound it is as it's oddly not on the tire and I tossed the packing card a couple of weeks ago. I haven't ridden on it yet, so it should be interesting to see how it compares to the Schwalbe Racing Ralph / Nobby Nic combo I've run on the bike since I bought it five and a half years ago. The Maxxis will be the 4th set of tires I've had on it.
