all last year's Champs of their respective leagues.... So sad two of them wont make it to the Rd of 16 and instead Bate or Galatasaray or Montpellier, hell even Malaga might make it thru.

what a game yesterday!! so, so 1st half with MC doing absolutely nothing and then surprisingly going ahead 1-0 with about 25 mins left to play. The last 25 mins were awesome! and REAL pulled through with a 3-2, coming back twice! You can see Ronaldo's frustration (just like in the EUROs earlier this year), he finally scored to give RM the W.

Today: Chelsea - Juventus... a defensive struggle???, we shall see...

Arsenal to win Champions league, you heard it here. Van Persie who? Podolsky is now the foot to bring title back to the Emirates.

zoller, are you running out of quality photos?

I think I am. It's a tough task!

But beggars can't be choosers

Arsenal. Mmmhhh. Certainly they have a good shot. It is going to be a great race between MU, MC, Chelsea & arsenal. I don't know if podolskil
Will return to his WC10 level after spending all this time in sucky Cologne

What about that Oscar kid from Chelsea. Lots of good things to come from him.

The Beautiful Game

Outside Mag did an interesting story on soccer fans in Argentina.
Sounds like a crazy scene.

Looks like Brazil is getting ready to host.
They are taking the responsibility seriously.

2014 World Cup
Brazil prostitutes plan English classes
January 8, 2013

By Associated Press

SAO PAULO -- Prostitutes in one of Brazil's biggest cities are beginning to sign up for free English classes ahead of this year's Confederations Cup and the 2014 World Cup.

Cida Vieira, president of the Association of Prostitutes in the city of Belo Horizonte, said Tuesday that 20 have already signed up for the courses and she expects at least 300 of the group's 4,000 members to follow suit. The association is organizing the classes and seeking volunteer teachers.

"I don't think we will have problems persuading English teachers to provide services for free," she said. "We already have several volunteer psychologists and doctors helping us."

She said classes are expected to begin in March and last up to eight months.

"It will be important for the girls who will be able to use English to let their clients know what they are charging and learn about what turns them on," Vieira said by telephone.

"And for the same reasons we are also thinking of offering free French and Italian classes," she added.

Prostitution is legal in Brazil.

Belo Horizonte's 62,000-seat Mineirao Stadium will host three matches of the Confederations Cup and six games of the World Cup.

haha, saw that yesterday and thought about posting it, but then I remembered nobody here cares!

But how did I forget J-MANIaC!

I didn't know Prostitution was legal in Brazil until yesterday. :hmmm:

Holy Shit!!! Today is the day!! {DVR set}

One of the most anticipated matches in recent FUTBOL history! Perhaps the next Champions League Champ will come out of this match.

Real+Madrid+vs+Manchester+United1.png

"The Real Madrid vs Manchester United clash has all the ingredients to become one of the most exciting and memorable games of the UEFA Champions League history."

"No football enthusiast can afford to not watch this game!"

The most important question is "Will CH14 aka Chicharito play?" 😛🙄
In the meantime....

Yeah it was an awesome game. Messi's first goal was spectacular. Now they just need to figure out how to beat Madrid. I thought Man U was going to take them out for Barcelona, but no such luck. I also don't see Arsenal pulling off the same thing today, so no premier league teams in the quarters.

Barcelona needs to strengthen their defense to play against a Madrid type team. But when you have 60-70% of possession and iniesta there to feed messi, you can fake it. Dani Alves is one of my favorite players but I think he can improve over his form lately. And piqué and puyol need to communicate better and attack less.

Well, it does seem that Mourinho found the formula to stop Messi & Crew, as the last 6 games in League and Copa has been either ties or a win for Real, ending a huge Barca dominance in the previous years.

Shocked that no EPL team made it and pleasantly surprised by Malagas run which has never featured neither at the local league nor international competitions.

Maybe Bayern will claim revenge from last year's heart breaker penalty lost in the final to Chelsea :hmmm: (not if they play like yesterday vs Arsenal)

until then....

DRAW is SET...

Bayern-Juve looks the most balanced game, although PSG & Barca is pretty even too.

The other two, Real and Borussia are clearly better teams but you never know...

At least we get to save the REAL-BARCA match for the Semis or even the Final...

Could be interesting to see if both Spanish and both German teams advance, then you can have an all german final or an all Spanish final...

I dont recall an all German final in a long time or even an all Spanish final, which could be more common....

Big game tonight Zoller. My guess is that dos Santos and Hernandez rip the US defense to shreds, but hopefully not. At least there shouldn't be any snow.

did they make a decision on the gripe about the snow yet?

Costa Rica had to provide a written complaint about the poor conditions prior to the start of the match, or their captain had to make a complaint to the ref during the match. Neither of these things happened, so FIFA threw out the complaint.
