I mean I really like them, but its alot for a car with just SLIGHTLY more space in it than my $18,000 focus hatchback. But I get it if your buying it bc its a nice car, its really nice.... im looking for something that makes a functional, utilitarian daily driver. The quality of the leather my 9 year old drops food on is not super important to me. And so far the electric cars have focused on being upscale rather than functional/affordable. I know this is changing.

Yup, prices haven't gone down, but then they usually don't. Government incentives, which make these cars considerably cheaper, are being phased out or more restricted and will likely be gone in a few years. At least still no NJ state sales tax on EVs, so that saves a few K.

It doesnt matter....tesla fanboys like @THATmanMANNY wont mind ANYTHING tesla does to fuck them over. PLEASE ELON JESUS GIVE US THE NEXT MODEL 3....where we changed the front bumper and its ALL NEW!!! lol.

Even though I HATE teslas....they are just hideous, boring, antiseptic interior, I cant argue that they make the most sense for an EV.....How cheap would they have to get for @Carson to buy one?

They do make sense for now. When Ford catches up with the Mach E and F150 AND can match their prices, it will be interesting.
HA! Carson will never own one! I see him getting a Taycan or Ford way before he goes Tesla.

e-Golf would be my guess. purchased on the last day of the month, negotiates install of charging station at home.
unlimited car washes.

I bought a new Model 3 in 2022. Tesla gave us the highest trade in value on my wife's Acura RDX (2015 with 50K miles, $22K trade in) and gave a delivery date a couple of months out. Acura wanted the vehicle with no delivery date of new, and a few thousand less on trade in. The Model 3 has been great. I think Honda is tied into GM on their electric program. I have not seen any Honda all EV that would compete with Tesla yet.
 
I think one of Tesla's biggest selling points, at least if you want to do any road trips with them, is the super charger network. I can't imagine trying to figure that out with a different make EV, all the different charging stations and apps to download, reliability issues, low charging speeds.... The Tesla superchargers have been great for all the road trips we've taken.

Eon’t happen. Tesla has so much contol of this market and makes a profit. None of the others do.

Next year all Ford, GM, Honda, Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, Polestar, Rivian, and Volvo EVs will be able to plug into Teslas network... So while yes this will make Tesla a profit... It will also make other brands more appealing..

This has always been Tesla's strategy, so checkmate. Its not a 1:1 comparison, but who makes more profit, car companies or the oil companies/refineries?
