As we drove out Sunday around 4;00 and the Bromley slopes were basking in the sun, it was not lost on us. Not sure if you go often, but Underground Coffee was a nice stop before the drive home. There is a bakery next door that was good Saturday, closed Sunday. The breakfast burger at Depot Street Burgers in Manchester was so good I am pretty sure I will insist we hit it on the way out Sunday (if we get there).
Bromley can get icy also. My fiend skied Okemo on Saturday, I wimped out, too cold for me, but he said it was terrible also. He skied Mt Snow on Sunday and said it was a lot better, but still shitty. Until they get a big storm, it will continue to suck. I'm heading to a few places in Utah in 2 weeks, they haven't had snow since early Jan, even there it can suck. Let's hope this storm happens!

This place https://www.facebook.com/ManofKentTavernandCafe/ has great food and it's on the way to NJ from Stratton, a little south of Manchester. Get a sandwich on the Rock Hill Farm House bread, YUM.

Sandwiches are big enough to share.

Thanks for the coffee tip, we hit an overpriced gas/market on the way in and out. Usually there several times a season as my sister has a place at Styles Brook.

We have passed Man of Kent a bunch of times, obviously given our enjoyment of Vermont. @pooriggy has a soft spot for the place, as he stopped there once after the Battenkill race, His race number is still hanging on the wall there, as far as I know. I will have to finally give it a shot soon, now that you bring it up.

I assume you pass that drive-up coffee shack just over the border in NY. For reasons that are baffling to me, it is currently closed. Given the massive congo line of traffic heading from VT back to NY/NJ, I would think they would make a mint if they were open on Sunday afternoon/evening.

Also, if your sister wants to lend us the place in Styles Brook, we plan on heading back a few times before the winter is out 🙂

I have passed that place no less than 100x over the years and it is ALWAYS packed. Cars parked up and down the Route 7 shoulder.

I've always wondered about it, now I know.
You won't be disappointed. Stopped there many times as a group meeting place on the way to Mt. Snow, usually on a Thurs night too.

If you're looking to get in and out real quick, that's rare there. I like stopping there on my to Stratton.

Heading up to Killington tomorrow. Hope to catch some fresh snow.

i as well have been driving past the Man of Kent for over 25 years and have never stopped, I will have to change that.

I was there last year, still there. The place has memorabilia from folks passing through, I don't see my number moving.

This place has become legendary, the og owner was from England, some of the eclectic Euro beers are still on tap.

Heading out of VT on this road doesn't offer much for decent food, it's basically the last stop before the NY thruway. It's typical pub fare but fresh, which is as good as dining in this area gets.

Prime spot behind the register. Race number from 2015. That was @Mitch's bar tab rung up, Ye Fat Bastard.IMG_20200301_142809.jpg

Every time we stopped there on our annual Mt Snow ski trip, the O.G. owner would remember us and come sit to chat for a moment. We would also see a very recognizable woman, looked very Scottish or Irish, with a small, sleeping lamb sitting on her lap at the bar.

Love, love, love Sugarbush. Thought they did a really nice job updating the lodge at Ellen.
I hear Mad Taco is great but haven't been out dinner all that much when there.
We've hit Rumbles a few times when they have fireworks on the mountain and Flatbread picnic tables in the summer can't be beat.
Mad Taco has to go and they are usually pretty quick. Worthy Burger is also really good and they have to go ordering now too
