Was up in Stowe for a few days with my youngest and a bunch of his friends.

Friday was the day with a few inches of new and warmer temps (but not sticky). Saturday was fun too but it warmed up a bunch. I ended up finding looking for crowd free blues to work on switch turns. It got cold and Sunday and was FIRM so just did a few and then skipped Monday. Rain event on the forecast and I've heard that this President's Day weekend is going to be an absolute zoo up there.

I still cannot believe the amount of people at the mtn this season. The lot and lines were full on Friday (seemed like a Saturday in past years). Saturday we drove into the lot at 8:30 and barely got a parking spot. The cars next to us were putting down a couple (beers by one, J's inside the other) to start the day off right.

The Quad was packed so after a ride up that I rode the double with a much smaller line. I noticed the conversations with people riding the double were the traditional Stowe feel.

On Sat - I found the Oh Shit sign after not seeing if for a bunch of seasons while skiing in there. I'm sure CB knows that area. I loved seeing the sign in college and would bring my kids there when they were ready for the woods. I'm guessing the sign got old and feel apart someone put a new one up.

Even though my season ended early, we are heading to Sugarbush on Saturday for a few days. The weekend will be pretty firm to say the least.
It's 53 in Warren right now and supposed to hit 8 at midnight Friday.

Fam and friends will ski Sunday, Monday maybe Tues morning for the A teamers.
I'll be on making pancakes and pizzas with my free time.

RIGHT? Just send the the couloir and call it a day.
this is the problem with these events....they can never leave something perfect alone.......no no no...we need to turn this into the winter X games and people need to do the quadruple cork 2275 or its not an event.

Good lord, look at the SIZE of this stupid ramp....I cant see the goddam couloir!!! who is the genius who did this???

@don VT is going to be nuts this weekend. There isn’t an available hotel anywhere I’m hearing. I’m staying local so I’ll be on ice all morning until it warms up.

omg, thats the best time to be there....I think my best ever ski day was during a blizzard at snowbird....I was trying to take some video but it was impossible to see anything....I eventually just turned the camera around on myself lol

Did you go all over? or just stick to one area?
Went everywhere, most runs were off the supreme or sugarloaf lifts. you couldn’t tell which way was up on regulator Johnson.

on Thursday we could see. snowbird is a big mountain that is much more fun when you can see.

Best snow seemed to be in the Mineral Basin jumping in from the cornice. Lots of fun mogul runs hidden in the trees on the Gad area

boot deep at some spots in mineral.

If they don’t get some big storms rolling thru, soon, it’s not going to be pretty.

Yep. I was surprised to see how well the snow conditions sustained themselves since they hadn't recieved any decent snowfalls since early January. If you can make your way to Colorado, they were in a bit better shape- Keystone , A-Basin, Copper. Friends are saying it will be snowing there Mon-Wed. Either way, enjoy.

Back in NJ. If they get dumped on somewhere after March 11th, I’ll head there. Other than that, it will be a trip or 2 to VT.

Let me know when/where. We're looking at Sugarbush (2nd weekend) then Killington (3rd weekend). Kicked around the idea of Stratton 1st weekend of March but that looks like a Windham 1-day-Sunday due to high school basketball playoffs. IIRC you are an Ikon Pass holder, right?

Ikon pass.
I’m hoping they get some snow! My buddy has a free pass to Stratton that expires, so he wants to get up there at some point.

Unless it’s a powder day, to me, spring s king is the best. Much less ice, almost daylight for the whole ride home. Shit, you could bike pine hill and ski Killington. I am going to make that a goal!

By Spring we will have tapped out our Killington number. Already 3/5 there and will run that out in March. Plus it’s hard to fire up the troops to ski when it’s 65 degrees out here.

Understood, sugarbush or Stratton!

Vermont typically gets a huge storm 2-3 feet in March. Unless it 3/7-3/14, I’m in! I have to be in Fort Lauderdale for work those dates.
