22-23 Ski and Snowboard thread

On Wednesday Steamboat was fully shut down due to high winds. Thursday I took the day off as it was colder than a witches….
Today was our last day and once again bluebird conditions. Snow was in good shape. Traveling back tomorrow. Didn’t get to meet up with @Zaskar but he’s in for a treat as it’s supposed to snow for several days next week.

I’m at Jiminy Peak and boy is the mountain bare compared to last year. 😳 Monday was good up to 3pm when all the man made snow got skied off. Unfortunately it didn’t get cold enough to make snow overnight so today was pretty crappy with a lot of ice patches. On a positive note, my two sons improved tremendously and were bombing icy black diamonds by mid-day. If we didn’t have to get our dog, we’d be heading north to Killington, where it’s supposed to snow 10” tonight.
 
Crazy that Utah happens to be at the same ski hill as us. What a coincidence!

Visibility was for shit today so this is the best you get. I still don't know what all this soft white stuff is all over the mountain. It's not ice, that's all I know.

Talk about timing, your first week skiing in Utah and it could be the best week in 20 years! Good for you, I’m really jealous.

if ever there was a day for deer valley, today is it. Just my 2 cents, I think Alta and snowbird will be like a weekend day and that road up the canyons will suck.

But the skiing! have a blast. Remember, shins to the boot, steer with your big toes and don’t lean back. If it gets real deep, rent the fat skis, it will make your life so much easier And more fun.

We opted for Deer Valley today. It made the most sense. 5 hours & almost 42 miles later we’re all exhausted.

Again not very clear day but there was a metric shit ton of snow.

Again, I’m so jealous, but glad to see you out there enjoying! You lucky bastard, wait till you get a blue bird day, you’ll never want to ski Killington again!
