25-26 Ski and Snowboard Thread

Lines at sugarbush weren't bad Sat/Sun....we were always able to hit the singles line on the superbravo and be on the lift in 5min or less....never waited at heavens gate or Lynx....Castlerock, but they make you wait on purpose there, so not really counting that one. And they actually opened slide brook...dont think I have ever seen it open. My son and I finally did the slidebrook side country stuff back to the road. It was a really great run, especially with the fresh snow....Waiting for the bus after wasnt awesome, but not terrible.

More I explore the Lincoln side of sugarbush, more I love it. Just so much more fun than killington IMO anyway.
Where do you typically stay up there? Thinking about going for a few midweek days.

Lots for love for Sugarbush from me. I still haven't skied the Slidebrook stuff, did you hit it with anyone that knew a route? While i do find SB more wild and untamed I've been leaning lately towards Killington for more terrain options. Will be up this week, Stratton on Thursday, K/Pico for the weekend and SB over Presidents...

Central Jersey ski club in Rochester. I joined last year, they have a house in Rochester....nothing fancy, but its pretty economical and right in between sugarbush and killington.
Yeah. I recommended that place somewhere on this forum. One my customers was a long time member there. Pretty sad as he had a stroke last year that's really f'd him up.

yes, @Norm is the one who first took me up there....It has been working out great, great for the summer time too. Sorry to hear about your customer.

I rode Mt Peter for the first time today. Wifey and son were there twice this weekend. Lines weren't too bad today but man, is that place tiny. Oh well, 3 of us able to ride the lift together for the first time was special. Kid's finally learning and getting into it at 8 after a few years of fighting us. Private lessons there have been good.

Yes....so actually since it had snowed alot...we didnt have to wait long for a group and we just tagged along....im glad I did...its not entirely clear where to go....I mean you won't get lost persay, but you can miss the good stuff if you arent looking for it.

I skied Lincoln 2 days straight and didnt make a single run on a groomed trail...that's my kinds of skiing. Whatever I have to do to stay off of groomers.

Yeah it just spills out down that gully...got to give it a shot sometime.

That is something that I love about SB, the natural snow trail conditions they drop a rope and say go for it.

Peter. a great place for starters with the free basic lesson. So much room for error. Boy’s first time snowboarding a few weeks ago. Worked out great. Already going to summit there and Shawnee. I thought he was going to fly off the trail at Shawnee every run.

I need some tips on getting off the lift though. It sucks with learning kids. He’ll wipe out or if I try to board with him. We both wipe. It hurts. May need to try strapping both his feet.

id say, if you can figure out a way for someone to pick you up, its the easiest way. We finished and there were about 15 people waiting for the bus....the first bus was small, so we couldnt fit on...had to wait 30min for the next bus. In hindsight, I would waited until a little later in the day and made it my last night, had my wife meet us there. Of course on a weekday....doubt the busses would have anyone on them
OTOH has anyone been to ELK? (North of poconos)
best mountain in PA IMO....older lifts, but the best terrain.

Yeah I been to Bellarye few years ago solo. Didn’t pay attn to the beginner stuff . But I think that’s next on list too.

I didn’t know the snow triple play has bellarye and we got my girl the ski ny kids thing so can be a bit economical if there is such a thing for ski/riding haha

Isn’t Elk like 2hrs and change and bellarye closer to 3?

My drive times are typically 2:30 to 2:40 for either. Might be a few minutes different from your hood. Waze usually takes me up 287 for both. When the kids get better, Belleayre has tree skiing and Elk doesn't. Kids like that. I don't think there realize how much it will hurt if they hit a tree.
