CLEAN YOUR CAMELBAKS PEEPS

do you guys who have mold in your bottles put something other than just water in there? I just rinse my stuff off with water and air dry and don't have any issues that I can see. Are you guys putting gatoraide in there or something?

Yes, drink mixes. I never put drink mix in a camelback for this exact reason. But carbs in bottles is much easier than carbs in pockets.

I put mixes in my bottles and bladders, and after I use I give them a rinse, shake dry, blow out nozzles and pipes and what not, and put them in the freezer...that black shite don't grow in sub-zero

Mine runs twice a day sometimes…

It's not uncommon for us to go to bed with a clean sink and literally wake up to an almost full sink of dishes. Not joking, even a little. Part of me wonders if they just pour a bowl of cereal then transfer it to every single bowl, 1 at a time, to make sure every dish in this house is dirty all the time.

You have 3 kids. How the hell do you not run your dishwasher at least once a day?
Every other maybe. Our biggest challenge seems to be utensils. However two of them are 9, so they aren't doing the late night eating of the 17 year old. Even still, run over night, I typically have my bottles prepared and waiting in the fridge so this would add time in the morning if i am using bottles with mix. All things that could be remedied

Can't people put multiple day's worth of bottles in the dishwasher?

Don't we all have cupboards that look like this?

Sort of.

Another fun fact about teenagers that play sports. No matter how much you tell them not to, they take your good bottles.
Label a shelf with "moldy" and another with "Cleaned of Mold"

Put good ones on the first shelf.

It is Fun Fact Wednesday, I guess.

A teenager will very often stand in the kitchen and say, "WHAT TIME IS IT?" while standing right in front of a clock.

They won't read it. I suppose by the fact they have graduated to college & high school, that they can read. Can and will - 2 different words.

Here is ours, it is a constant battle to clean bottles, replace bottles and throw out bottles. In any given day my wife has a coffee tumbler, a water bottle (stanley or hydro flask), the water cup in the house (plastic insulated) and sometimes ice tea cup or whatever. And i have 1-4 bottles a day for riding and then whatever the kids have, which is at least one insulated bottle each. I used to use different bottles for road and mtb but have been using the same for each with the polar bottles.

price isnt bad either, get a bunch and report back. Im not willing to give up the (granted somewhat limited) insulation in my podium chill bottles(at least not yet), helps keep cold in the summer and not frozen in winter.

Thats the ones he been saying are good

A plastic cup is thicker then these things.

EDIT- Probably not dishwasher safe, at least not heated dry. They are super thin and will deform and maybe even melt.

You are correct. They are basically race day bottles. I’ve been using them for a few months and except for the nail strike, they’re holding up well. The other elite bottles developed leaks at the mouth piece. But these are still good. And if you bought them, how easy are they to clean? The mouth piece pops right apart and there’s way for mold to grow.
