Dunellen to bwater gives you a few route options, that will be a nice commute. I used to live in Middlesex.
A couple of things off the top of my head:
-ride the route before you actually try to commute.
-plan extra time at first, once you get a routine dialed in it gets faster and easier.
-if you are going to change at work, stash extras there if you can. A belt, socks, underwear, etc. There will be days you forget something. If you are in business attire it can't hurt to keep a complete outfit at work if you can store it, just in case.
-make sure you have a decent repair kit- tubes, pump, multi tool, quick links, zip ties/safety pins
Have fun with it. It takes time to figure out what works best. With a local commute like yours, if driving in a weeks worth of clothes is an option that will allow you to enjoy the ride more and not have to worry about carrying clothes in and out.
