Has a company yet come out with braking and downhill turned back into battery power yet? I'm sure it's being worked on.

Doesn't really make sense when you think about it.

It would require switches on the brake levers that know how far back you're pulling them with communications back to the motor controller. And E-bikes all have their motor powering the rear wheel, so if it they switched to generator mode it would be rear only and would be hard to balance the front/rear bias.

I doubt it's really *that* much power that would be generated as the majority of the battery is really spent on uneven terrain, pushing through those minor suspension losses, tire compressions, etc. Small downhill jaunts won't feedback most power especially as you'd need to still rely on powerful disk brakes unless you had a front wheel motor/generator.

Dynamo hub puts out a dozen watts best case scenario and 6v. You’d have to ride for a year to charge the Battery 😂

Best Buy is the new LBS 🙄

None of the controls were done correctly. Bars on backwards is pretty shitty but no top cap and spacers on the stem 😱

I'm guessing many of these cheap e-bikes are going to end up in the land fill in a few years just like cheap big box pedal bikes do.

couldn't they find someone to assemble the bikes who has at least RIDDEN a bike before?
How could someone not know what way the brake levers go??

How can they mess up that bad? Aventon's are actually pretty decent bikes too that use much better components and electronics than those other dumpster fires.

It's not that bad, they actually had 50/50 chances to screw up so...
You'd be amazed at what people can screw up. These shifters have numbered gear indicators. So you see that and then turn the bars over so they face the ground? What are people thinking? Of course when they bring the bike into the shop it is only to adjust the front brake. They ask us to ignore the upside down and backwards handlebars and the pedals that are obviously only threaded in about 2 turns.

Happens everyday.

It's more than likely just a Corporate thing. Some schmuck had to build this row of bikes 15 minutes before opening because the 25 department managers couldn't figure out who was in charge of that area. At least that's how it works here 🤣

This is Best Buy we're talking about. They probably grabbed someone who was just selling gaming keyboards to put them together. Does anyone working there look like they even own a bike?
