There was no way to for them soften the impact of that image. Despite the likelihood of Nibbles and Bits flailing his way to the bottom, again, anything he did would have been colored by that moment. And any impact (again most likely none) he might have had on the race would have been tainted. Note that even with that MASSIVE assist, he still managed to lose 90 seconds.
