Jungle Habitat Conditions

Rode Jungle this morning. Totally ready! A few spots of mud here and there, but totally normal. If its any indication even the lower section of Warthog by Skunk was dry. Overall, conditions were stupendous!!

map is easy to follow. hardest part is finding the trail entrances off the parking lot. then you're good.

JH looked great this past weekend. A big thank you to Dave and his team who was working on a section of Warthog when I plowed through.

No problem Jon, it was good riding with someone. My wife also appreciates it since she knows I tend to do stupid things -she is always worried that I'll just be lying hurt somewhere since I've had my share of over the handlebar accidents! Ditto the WOW at this place - it was only my second time biking there and it is by far the best mountain biking trails I've been on. I can't wait to go back, I'm hooked.

As you can imagine conditions after yesterday's deluge are pretty wet in the typical spots. Please avoid lower chute. and take the mud bypass on Warthog.

Still pretty wet as it rained (and hailed!) early this afternoon on the beginning of my ride for 20 minutes or so.

Big thanks to Rich and Dimitre from Bicycle Tech in Lincoln Park. Twice they passed me on the trail when I was having a shifting issue and a torn tubeless/punctured tube issue and they worked on my bike for several minutes and saved my ass with a spare tube. Super good guys. They renewed my faith in strangers helping strangers on the trail.

Know someone posted in the photo thread last week. Saw this guy today on Goat.

Conditions were great tonight. Good to see so many people out! uploadfromtaptalk1399506901888.jpg

Rode Friday. Animal shute, about 2/3 of Warthog and some paved trails. All surfaces I rode were good, near perfect, with just a couple of damp spots. Nothing watery or too dry. Lots of poson ivy, some encroaching onto the single track I rode. Just made sure to stay on the bike in those areas.

First time at Jungle today! Trails were in awesome shape. Rode Warthog, Otter Slide, Tanks, Cages, Babs, Boon (I take it this combo is Baboon?), Hippo, and finished with Lower Chute. Cannot wait to go back!

Luke, was that you that I lent my pump to you over on Warthog? If so, hope you were able to ride back to the lot.
