The BearScat 50!!!!!!!

In (slight) seriousness, what are people planning on doing in preparation for this? I've been logging as many base miles as possible this winter with the aim of building up to 6-7 hour weekend rides this spring. Likely doing the H2H race there as a data point.

what are base miles? Also, what is the unit of measurment for alcohol consumption, when applied as a training mechanism?

Focus on core strength. What you see on the H2H course is easy compared to what will be on the 50.

You only need 2 things in order to finish this. Ok, maybe 3:

1. Ride a bunch. You don't need to go nuts with the training. Just ride a bunch, and try to get out there for longer rides every weekend. Like you say, build up to 6-7 hours.

2. Learn to eat & drink properly on the bike. This is of paramount importance and will be the difference between the people who finish really tired, and those who finish and cry for mommy, or don't finish at all.

3. Be mentally prepared for a long day, including not getting caught up in the madness of the first 30 minutes or so. You can certainly blow your day there.

I'll ride Wayway race course like 5 times in a row:drooling: That should do it...

I'm in .and I know I have made a mistake .
for sure I will realize that that the fast guys will take me with the the second loop before I complete the first one ...

This is not going to be the same old Waway course thats in the H2H. From the rumors I have heard it promises to be more technically challenging. IN addition to loggin hours bring your skills. Work on your rock gardens, log overs and general balance - learn to ride efficiently. Trust me, I am far from the best if you are comparing FTP and max power, etc; but I can more than make up for it on technical courses. This race will be a mountain bikers delight.

You're going down, fatso. Only 18 spots left.

He who hesitated will not be in this race....

I was hoping for more time to overthink and obsess about it, but it was register now or forever wonder how I would have done.

This sells out today or my name isn't Orville Redenbacher.

But your name isn't Orville Redenbacker. If it doesn't sell out today by noon you should change your name to Orville Redenbacker. That would be pretty cool, I really like popcorn:popcorn:
