Anyone who eats bugs can't be all bad, right?

Syadasti's a good dude. I think his handling on that NZ stuff might have gotten to people - he had some good info - just the way it was presented could have been better, I agree.

I've ridden with him a bunch, bought and sold parts, and even worked with him over the years. He's a very solid rider, really smart guy, and overall good/fun guy. Hope to see him back on the board and on the trail soon.

i was hungover yesterday so i was in rare form. i'm sure he's a good guy but as i said yesterday, there are ways to present information and ways not to do it. the first way he did it, not so good. the second way, much better.

Agree. I try to re-read stuff before I post if it's offereing a different point of view. I might be thinking one way but it could come across totally different to someone else in written form.

And props for having a Garbage Heap - heated exchanges always make for a good read.

I don't doubt he is a good dude. He simply responded without considering a bigger picture. Hermosa Tours is a member of our forum and a sponsor. They have offered significant discounts to mtbnj members in the past. We would like to see that continue.

When Syadasti was asked to back off he kept driving his point and pissed off the wrong dudes. Now he gets a time out to think it over before responding again.

We all know now how Syadasti feels. It's cool to go traveling the world in search of good riding. OTOH, some of us only get 10 vacation days a year. I'm willing to pay a premium to have someone show me the goods.

white clay

in late october while perusing mtbnj I saw a post about a place called white clay creek in delaware.

white clay is supposed to be the best in that region

last week end i was in fair hill (md) just west of newark de.

hope to check out white clay next time i'm down there as well as wissahickon (philly mtb)

13 posts, and you made it to the greatest thread ever!

Well put Ben.

LOL, I was thinking the same. Not even a "I hope she is OK" or anything!

No joke.

I'm going to come clean on this one. I was tipped off about this particular poster being banned recently on another forum. So naturally the leash is shorter. I'm all for giving people fresh starts (see pinkshirtphotos) but it's also impossible to ignore history.

On that note, I've also been clued in by a very trustworthy member on sydasti's pre-mtbnj history and this kind of episode is apparently not uncommon. All indications are that he's a good guy, but like a cat with strings when it comes to arguments. That's just not going to fly.

Is that fair? Kicking someone off the site or not partially because of their supposed reputation? I see where you're coming from, but one could argue you were just waiting for the one poster to F up.

No complaints here, just noticing. Or starting some shit 😀

Few things here that may not be clear:

1. Today I moved a post the the garbage heap, I didn't ban anyone. The post was because he replied to someone's post about their wive getting stitches and saying, "I have to check that park out." Dictionary definition of off-topic thread drift and being out of place. There are plenty of threads about White Clay, he can find them with the search feature.

2. Sydasti was boxed for 48 hours. After I did this I found out that he has a previous reputation. So he earned that box on a clean slate just like anyone else.

You tell me, am I being unfair in either situation?

Justin just wants you to give the guy a job and pay his mortgage, school, and healthcare. He'll learn to love you 😛

I've banned members for things they have done on other forums. Once I banned a guy for making fun of my girlfriend 😀

Nope, I guess I misread your last thread.

Well, I am one of the racers getting screwed by this all. I went from being one of the youngest in my class, to being one of the oldest (for the next 3 yrs!!).

At 37 yrs old I'll now be racing against teeneagers and people in their 20s (whom in my experience are at their physical peak). With three kids, there is no way I'll find the time to ride as much as they get to and be able compete with these gals physically. I'll probably do one more year, but this will probably discourage me from racing in the future. I'll just have to wait and see how the first race goes.

I know you can't please everyone, just wanted to voice my opinion.

Here you go.

Everyone has something else going on in their life. Its not fair I have to race kids in college that can ride all day every day.

I've been following this but haven't said much since I only raced once this season but the bigger brackets (for example 19-39) made me upset for the opposite reason- in endurance events people peak in their 30s so the 24 year old is actually at a major disadvantage against a 36 year old. They can't even really be compared.

Are you calling a H2H race an endurance event? H2H races are sprint races.

Mike, I'm speechless...What are you doing? 🙄

Bashing the ladies in the female forum? C'Mon! The next time you cry pedalfest after a race I'm gonna lay into you! 😛
