By strict definition, a Turbo Levbo is a pedalec. Requires pedal assist to go. Definition of an "e-bike" is it can be ridden without pedal assist (throttle). This distinction is almost never mentioned and leads to even more confusion.

That must be your own concocted definition. Everyone - including manufacturers of ebikes - call any bike with motor assist an ebike.

I agree that "everyone" calls them ebikes. Therefore "everyone" must be right. Wrong. Causes the confusion I was talking about. It doesn't mean that people are gonna start calling pedal assist ebikes pedalecs, but that is the term for them.

Whenever I see this kind of certainty with absolutely no research, BS alarm bells go off, as they should. Spend 10 seconds and Google "What is the difference between a pedelec and ebike?". You believe what you want. Everyone must be right.

Yes the manufacturers are right - it is their products - ebikes. You are using a term no one uses.

SL stands for slow and lame

The reason 90% of people buy an eBike in the first place is because they have become slow & lame. So it all works out then.

Surprised it took this long - someone took a bunch of KOMs at Thompson Park on a Sur Ron X. 7000W. Poaching trails on your dirt bike and posting it to Strava with a pic of the bike... Clever.

Can't you flag them as an E-Bike?

I'd make the assumption that they just don't know better and don't have their bike setup as an e-Bike on Strava so it saves it automatically that way.

Should also be reported to the proper authorities.

I would of preferred this thread to have been called class 1 ebikes so not to confuse or lump all of the other nonsense post of non class 1 bikes. It's hard enough trying to advocate that class 1 are worlds apart from throttle ebikes.

Had this conversation just the other day and the point was well made. If you haven't gone out on at least 2hr solid trail ride on a class 1 then it's really hard to take anyone's opinion at face value.

Door is open, I have a large mid power Orbea Rise for anyone who wants to make an open minded opinion. Come join me on one of my lame and slow rides 🤪

I am honestly eBike ignorant. At RV yesterday I saw a dude with an e-motorcycle. I mean in no way could you say it was anything but a motorcycle but it was electric as it sounded like a Tesla. I have no idea the difference in all these things. What is the Levo?
