Thinking about renting instead of traveling with my snowboard for an upcoming trip. Anyone here rented in the Georgetown, CO area. Pickup or delivery. We're doing 4 days from there at Winter Park, Copper, A-basin and possibly Steamboat, not in any particular order. I've reached out to Black Diamond Sports in Georgetown. Looked at Christy Sports, but doesn't look like they deliver to Georgetown. There's also Breeze Ski Rental (Burton) and Ski Butlers (Rossignol) that will deliver. Comparing the cost of renting for 4 days vs. baggage fee of 3 flights @ $50ish + having my board tuned before the trip est $30.

Thought they stopped charging for sports equipment?

Anyway, I used Christy's at the mountain bases. The bindings always suck.

The airlines don't charge for oversized snowboard bags? I'm flying United Airlines on the company dime to my first destination.

My understanding is that they do not. We are also taking United and will have 4 sets of ski/boot bags. But if we get to the check-in and they charge us, WTF are we going to do about it?

I've heard of people getting a credit afterwards rather than arguing with the gate agent.

Agree on United they count the board/ski bag and the boot bag as one item. They don’t consider these as oversize.

skied Beaver Creek and vail for a few days this week. I have been getting the ikon the last few years, so I haven’t been here since 2016, fresh track at 1:30 off the Poma!!
20 turns untouched and then you crossed a few tracks. Vail is awesome. I’m a big proponent of Utah, but man Vail is so fun!
Vail is amazing mid week. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to ride there on a weekend again.

Went and did some exploring around Stowe. Conditions are getting better everyday.
Damn - what a great view of the Front Four and NDH! Not a perspective many people see.

Be careful if you are skiing into the Notch from that side - some brothers from CT had a bad incident there a few years ago. One died falling off a cliff.

Great to hear conditions are getting better - I hope to be there in a couple of weeks.

Murphy’s glade was awesome. Castle rock is probably thin by now but was prime when I hit it at 9 this morning. I was sticking in the trees off of paradise at heavens gate and was getting fresh tracks on a lot of runs.

We were at Stratton today, stopped on the drive up. It cannot be described as awesome. The 24" of snow they apparently got in the last 10 days is pretty much long gone. It's more or less ice with a smattering of snow on top right now.
