Cars, it's electric! Do Do Do

@JerseyPete oh you new at this? 😆
Don’t auto fold your windows either.
The frameless windows are probably the most inconvenient thing and it’s not waiting at a SC. Direct your vents towards the sides/windows so when you pre condition car it helps the frozen windows if you have that problem.

But other cars have problems too. I can’t even turn the key in one of my other cars because the key core insides is frozen. Not primary car. OTOH I saw gas’ers at Costco definitely waited 15-30min for gas.
Yep, first time for a freeze this bad! Thanks for the pointers on the mirrors. The other thing I watched on YouTube was a Tesla guy in the Netherlands who suggested defrost on full and have the drivers side rear seat folded forward to allow more heat towards the charge port.
I don't expect the 50 degree drop to happen anytime soon, but you never know!
BTW, only used a super charger once just to see how it is done and how fast it works. All other charging done at home with the wall charger.
I think it is around $10 for 200 miles of charge with PSEG off hours.

And the doors on the Honda Ridgeline were also frozen and stuck too.

I think I drive more with an EV because I don’t have a second thought about the cost of travel. 60mile range EV worked as a second car for few years but I’m glad I don’t have to suit up anymore to drive them during the winter like I’m shoveling snow. My wife worked like 10 miles away and that was even pushing the boundaries of that car in the winter. After she ran some errands and picked up kids after work the car would be pretty low.

I’m guessing the writers of these articles don’t actually own an EV. If they tried a small battery EV they would feel limited and inferior to 200+ range cars and that they just burned a ton of money because someone told them it would be more environmentally friendly. It’s also funny that people want to debate what’s better for the environment now and enjoy their steak still 😆

Im vegetarian, plant based for bout 5 yrs now and am enjoying the banter goin back and forth...maybe this deserves its own thread on the site? We still talkin bout cars? 🙂
Honestly don’t believe you can have a diet thread anymore. There is a large percentage of people that see diet as a type of religion. I resisted the urge to reply to the vegetarian Indian that used to much butter getting heart disease …… I have learned that you reply to something like that and it’s only a short time before a sickly vegetarian shows up at your door wanting to stab you in the face . People that suffer through these ridiculous diets are like the religious people that walked around flogging themselves imo. You have zero chances of reaching them.

you think the vegetarian is gonna stab you in the face? Meat eaters got all the hunting gear, bro.

I'm a meat eater and don't have any hunting gear. My wife is a vegetarian and has knives stashed throughout the house. There's a good chance that if someone breaks into our house they are gonna get stabbed in the face by a vegetarian.
Does she also watch "Dateline" and "Almost got away with it" and keep a notebook by the bed like my wife?

It’s a free country, eat whatever you want, and I don’t judge people on their diets. Like Chris Rock says, if I make it to the pearly gates, I don’t think my diet is what is going to be called into question. Having said that, it ain’t the meat meat eaters that are the ones always gettting all preachy.
