Yo dog I heard it was snowing up by yous

Holy crap, this is getting out of hand, which I like.

I got an email that someone took a Six Mile strava segment from me; All the motivation I needed to ride today. I was thinking I would just ride tomorrow, but with the weather we have, 1 in the hand is worth two in the bush.

Mandi called me before I left and she decided to wait at the canal lot for a ride home from her road ride instead of riding home. Something about it being too hot. Summer isn't even here yet girl!

But yeah, it was extra muggy out today, but somehow we had no bugs on the canal path. Maybe too muggy for them too? Also the closed path section is just about done, it looks like they just need to move the crap out of the canal path. Damn Sandy ruining the smoothness of the path. It is much better, but I remember when you used to ride your road bike on this and it was smooth as glass. Dem good old dayz.

So I rip Blue and all I can think was how I ripped Smokin Tony's blue trail time. First time I felt really good about how I rode that section. Make the turn onto red. Interested to see what this debris blockage on Red looked like. It did sneak up on me, but 24 hours of people riding this trail have made a nice go around show up. I read that someone has already moved some of the stuff, but kind of counter-productive.

Canal ride home was nice, and I displayed some awesome roadie/street navigation skills. So good that someone called Mandi and was impressed (her cousin)

I regrained my segment on the canal loop, but holy crap. TonyP has left his mark on Six Mile, and will forever be a legend at this place. Not sure how much faster I could do that blue trail in. The trails have changed somewhat, but still. Crazy scary.

EDIT: After we showered I went to get dressed and threw some shorts on. I haven't had the need to wear shorts since the end of summer, but none of them fit me. Times like these, you realize you have lost weight. Mandi said it looked like I was wearing my Dad's shorts.

We got subs and froyo, Lukes favorite

I sent him a photo but he didn't reply. Maybe he was just jelly?

Molly in the window. Sometimes she thinks she can jump out the screen. Or eat the bugs on the other side of it. Free entertainment.

Based on all the SANDY re-routes, one can only look at times posted in 2013. The old stuff is no longer realistic.

Sadly you could remake every segment, but it would still find the ones that tony lit on fire. It's okay, he deserves it. He was a man amongst boys in his time of glory, ESPN will do a 30 for 30 on him.

Time spent in NC was swell, Weather was good, Got a good tan, enjoyed the family and headed home. We did somehow ride for 3 out of the 4 days we were in NC, albeit around a super flat development look. Kind of like a solo crit. It was enjoyable to have a sweat, and then head to the pool and nap.

We saw this guy in downtown Wilmington, sitting on a table like a freaking boss:

Perfect time to decompress. On Sunday, all I could think about is that this time next week, I will be knee deep in rockgardens wishing I was dead. So this was a good picture to paint in my head when those times of frustration and exhaustion kick in. Pool, sun, sleeping. Yes.

This was at one of our rest stops:

The farther we got north, the uglier the it got. This area is just ugly. It also started raining, and we hit traffic, which was beat. We tuned to the AM radio station the sign said to in order to fill us in. 10 minutes it loops around and just says "Traffic on 95 North". Thanks Delaware.

Once we got home I needed to get some Pizza. Ultimate, "I'm Home" food.

You best believe I slept like a rock.

Wednesday I hit a bird with my car. I didn't see him exit the other side of my bumper, so not sure if he is in my bumper, or in my wheel well. RIP Bird. Also, my typing has gone to shit. Need to ramp back up to it.

Whenever we go down to NC to visit family, the first thing we do when we're back is get pizza/Italian take out. They just dont have it down there. Their BBQ makes up for it though.
