The Indoor Cyclist's support thread

just run it on your phone!
That would be great except for my current condition called CSS = Can’t See Shit

It’s also linked to other chronic conditions such as :
CHS - Can’t Hear Shit
CRS - Can’t Remember Shit

I’ve got a $250 Best Buy gift card I need to use anyway. And I won’t waste gas driving because there’s a store less than .5 mile from work office.

Zero issues today.

Moved the Ant+ USB closer to the edge of workbench.

Anyone try the SYSTM? still no looking for the Peleton route. Just better workouts than zwift. Does the SYSTM workouts automatically adjust resistance if we have a smart trainer? (TacX neo2)

Even tho I am a Windows/PC mostly, i have made the decision to get Apple TV due to speed and convenience on the setup I have seen from my local riding crew.

Just trying to narrow down what you guys have and how its working for you, since there are so many similar options:

  • AppleTV 32 or 64GB?
  • Do I save a few $$ and get the n-1 version or get the latest one?
  • I also want to connect it via Ethernet to avoid wifi issues in the basement, I have Ethernet Cat6 already to the existing PC.
  • I am reading 4K doesnt make sense so I dont think its necessary but may be the best way to go now.

Looks like the best timing to buy one is now, with the new one coming out I can pre-order, of course they make the one with the ethernet port the bigger hard drive but stil seems the best futureproof decision.

The Apple TV 4K is priced starting at $129 for the 64GB model with Wi-Fi only. For $149, customers can buy a 128GB model that adds a gigabit Ethernet port and support for the Thread mesh networking protocol to connect even more smart home accessories. The Siri Remote with USB-C is available separately for $59.

yes you beat me to it LOL.

TV Cart idea is one I had not thought of but might consider since the basement setup for my cycling spot is still semi permanent.

pulled the trigger for the pre-order since I am not in a rush I can wait a few weeks. added the AppleCare since it was all covered by the gift card anyway.

1:07 is a long race. I do like the longer ones as the start is not total fire.

Pretty much every race I have done this year, my trainer has dropped out at some point. The last race it dropped 4 times, which kinda sucked. But I am there for the workout so whatever.

It was definitely a recovery drink ride. Plus strawberry lemon cremes from Paris Baguette

Giving serious consideration into getting back on the trainer, but first I have to buy one. I previously had the Wahoo Kickr (2nd?), along with a whole pain cave setup. Now I'm leaning towards keeping it relatively simple and just watching TV and getting a Elite Direto XR, which seems like a great value.

EDIT- place I saw it for on the cheap is sold out, FOMO is real. On to the next one maybe, a Kickr v5 for 899, or maybe holdout for a Black Friday deal

lots of sales going on - bike shops have some extra inventory on hand too thats left over from the covid rush.

I know Marty's has a great deal on Kickr Core.

Ok, I think I'm in love with the Tacx Neo Bike with a $600 discount direct from Garmin. Self-contained, which is important now that I'm down to 1 road bike, and it's also self-powered. Timing just sucks considering I'm doing a new SJ...

EDIT- it is done. I'm going to give there sub service a try as well. All based on realistic footage, which is appealing to me. I'm definitely over Zwift. Also going to get a set of BT earbuds and do the TV thing. Committed!!!!!
