Friday
The ride home was interesting, I checked the temp before I left and it said 55, so shorts on the way home. This was a total kit fail on my part since I wore my lakes in so I looked like a total db, I had socks on that came just above the cuff, but still. I would have melted in the bib tights I wore on the rainy ride in. I also didn’t wear gloves home for the same reason. Got hit with the 50 mph winds the second I came out side and it was blowing me across the road leading out the back of my office complex. I pretty much had a headwind the whole way home but it didn’t really matter since I was just chillin’. I was laughing it was pushing me back so much. Must have been one of time when people in cars just think you nuts and then they see you laughing and it confirms their suspicions.
Saturday
Planned to get up and ride early but slept through my alarm and didn’t get out until after 6. My son was also calling me right as I was walking out, so that set me back another 5 min. So only did 50 min and something like 12 miles. I guess this was what other refer to as recovery, but I still probably wasn’t going slow enough, or long enough.
Later in the morning had a kids b-day party at one of those places that has all the moon bounces and bounced around for an hour acting like a kid. It is fun to do that when the other dads can barely climb into the things, let alone jump for more than 2 min. I could tell the other moms wanted my junk.
Awesome.
Then drove 2 hours to my parents and played some basketball for a half hour, had some dinner and drove home. Busy day.
Sunday
I didn’t ride in the more and left it up to the MBU gods to see about a afternoon ride. My wife was out in the morning and I think she was planning to stay out the afternoon, so I didn’t push a ride since she went to my parents and she hates it their, so well, you know. Anyways, I think she saw it was super nice out and was back by 2:00, when I went for a quick ride. Super stellar day and perfect temps for a wool jersey and shorts. Headed towards the landz that be sour and saw a bunch of riders out and about. Reeled in some dude that I thought was ronC, but turned out to just be some asian guy and thought for a second it was soundz (note, soundz it like one of two asian guys I know that rides), but dumped that thought as soon as I saw the guy was dressed for like 20* and I know soundz knows better than that. Also, the dude was sporting a rack with some super dork bag on it, but hey, who am I to judge as I was too lazy to take the fenders off my cx9 so I was dorkin’ too.
I would have taken the synapse but it is currently taken apart and in the process of getting new bars. I was starting to see far too many FSA wing bars out there and decided to try something new. Picked up some 3T bars on fleabay and they are pretty much the exact same thing as the fsa bar with a round bar where you rest you palm on the back of the hoods, so we will see how I like that. Also putting some white tape on there. Euro to the max.
Anyways, was felling good and pushed it out on a few sections and made it up province line feeling really good. Saw my asian bud coming the other way just as I went over the top. I gave him a nod but he just as confused as when I passed him the first time. Dude was lost or something. Was gonna stay out for 2 hours but I wanted to wash my salt lick of a car, so packed it in at 1:45. Felt supa.

Monday
Hour ride in this morning. Woke up at 2am and heard it dumping rain and thought I would ditch riding in if it was raining like that. Luckily it wasn’t raining at all by the time I got out and I stopped 20 min in to ditch my vest. More wool jersey action this morning and I can’t say enough good things about them, other than they stretch like a mofo when they get wet, but I guess you take the good with the bad. On another note, I still have this lingering cough that is just plan annoying. Was coughing a lot on the ride this morning but less yellow mucus, so I guess it is getting better, otherwise, feel much better.

February Wrap
As I said, hours would go down for Feb, but not as much as I thought. After my ride home, will be just over 38 hours and 640 miles for the month. Feel good about that, however I need some longer rides and some mtb rides if I don’t want to die come the end of may. Gonna be here before we know…
