So Where Were We (SWWW)
Days go on...
Friday - Xmas party, had a good time. Drank some red wine. Overall my drinking is way down. That's the only day last week I had more than 1 glass of wine or a beer. Carson will be disappointed.
Saturday - I don't know what I did. I know I rode a bike for almost 2 hours outside and did manage to hold a 20 mph average. So I guess I'm not totally dead. This is sort of my lead-in to The New Normal, which the current time frame is not.
Sunday - spent most of 10 hours painting bedrooms. In all, it wasn't too hard really. Having said that, I wouldn't want to be a painter for life.
Monday - I think I spun on the trainer. My legs were still sore.
Tuesday - Intervals on the trainer. 4x5:5. Why am I doing this? I guess just to keep it fresh, to see what I have, to shock myself into Bike Reality a little bit.
Today - Pick up J after work. Probably not going to ride.
Tomorrow - Going to finally get that 2000 mile mark with Andy. For real.
After that who knows. The Xmas break is going to be sort of all over. I'm off all week save for Monday. After Monday I'm off until 1/2.
Printers
Props to Iggy for paying attention. That's sarcasm but then you know, Iggy is Iggy.
Carson - do printers! I think I mentioned that there will be a Norm-a-Palooza II? You can wait until then if you so desire.
Joe - yes, still want it. I actually have need of 2 of everything right now. That's just how I roll.
Anyone have extra baseball bats?
Ted
I never did make it out on Ted. My shoulder is fine in the cold, but it does sometimes get a little sore when I sleep on that side of the bed. You might ask, why not always sleep on the same side of the bed? You know, again, that's just how I roll.
Content
I'll need to stop posting interactions with my daughter, lest people think I'm anything but an "arrogant-know-it-all-and-rules-it-all of the forum". Actually I should turn AM into a frog for posting that. She actually PM'ed me later saying she was just playing and not to take it too seriously.
I generally don't take much too seriously.
I think we've actually talked about this before. People who haven't met me tend to think I'm arrogant. Then in real life they realize I'm tall dark and handsome...well, at least 1 of the 3...assuming the lights are out.
Anyway, as I know I (and many others) are defined by words, this is the reality of teh Internets!!!!!1
I know content suffers this time of year, so ok, I'll try to post more. What are my expectations? IDK, but it feels like too many people disconnect. I guess it's the burnout time of the year that happens every year. After 1/1 a lot picks up, as people return to work, get sick of being inside, and so on. We go through this every year and instead of watching things die, someone, myself often, asks why it sucks. Then it becomes a talking point, people post more, we get online races or beer contests, as well as avatar & winter shoes references, and then we move on.
Was "bikes in space" a reference to Pigs in Space? True story: I had a Pigs in Space lunch box as a kid.
Articles - I would love that but it's hard for me to drive this bus all the time. Robin does a great job but she's been racing her butt off and I know it gets really tiring. And repeatedly begging people for content gets old. Trust me, I know it. We actually had the MTBNJ newsletter for a while. What did that last, 3 months? It was kinda cool but wow it was a lot of work.
So it died.
Ok ok, I admit that I have not supported so much. New Normal, after 1/1. I'll try harder. Like Avis.
Jimmy Hat
Yeah you can have this 1 jersey. It's a year old but whatever, it's yours. I won't even make you pay for it. It's on me. Just find out how to get it or for me to get it to you.
I still need to figure out who gets the other one. Someone nominate someone else.
Xmas
I'm still undecided. RNG1 does have the Jewish thing going for him, so for him I'd just be a normal vagrant showing up on a typical weekday to ride. I guess I need to see what's going on and what I'm doing the night before. Maybe I'll just do the puzzle on my table and drink red wine. I'll say that my wine consumption over the Xmas weekend may spike. It's a one-off though. I promise.
Oh and the boxes are partly for me, and partly for a friend. I still have a bunch of stuff at the house I need to take.
What Else?
Not sure. But you guys really slacked on the Haiku Challenge. Well, except for Dave.
Dave - do I still have dibs on raiding your basement?
